Our first stay at this amazing hotel. We purchased the beauty and the beast package and found the whole experience amazing from the start. The hotel is beautiful, the staff very friendly and welcoming (especially the guy in coffee shop, sorry can't remember his name) rooms clean and modern. Will definitely be staying here again. 11 out of 10.

Staying at this hotel is special. It has a sophisticated elegance. All the staff are friendly and well trained. Without exception, you are looked after in every way.||If you stay here, treat yourself a room with club access. This club is exceptional with staff that look after each and every guest. You are welcomed, seated and served. There is a great choice of nibbles to snack on, along with a variety of drinks. Breakfast is served in the club on the weekend, which we enjoyed as it is much quieter than the main buffet breakfast area.||The room we stayed in was spacious and well appointed with a view to the coastline. So, again book a room facing the coast, as the sunsets are stunning.||We also dined at the Garçon Bleu restaurant. All of our meals were beautiful presented and delicious.||Congratulations to the General Manager of this hotel for creating such an inviting and special place to stay.

I highly recommend this hotel for a top end hotel experience in Adelaide. I used my suite night upgrades as an Accor Diamond member to book a bigger room with separate lounge room and it was well worth it. The room was beautiful and well stocked with amenities, very comfortable bed, quiet and pleasant. The Club lounge was well worth it - I enjoyed evening canapes (fantastic soup every night) and drinks, with very high quality buffet breakfast was served in the restaurant with omelette bar. I love this hotel and will return. It is easy walking distance to the Rundle Mall.

If this is an example of a "5-Star Hotel", they must be giving stars based on profit margins now.

Sofitel Adelaide is a profit maximized spaces hotel, with no public spaces, cramped rooms, no parking and does not even a decent loading / offloading zone, so say goodbye to that welcoming first impresion when you "discover" a new hotel.

Like a normal person would, I offloaded my visiting family at the front of the hotel, got the luggage out, helped them check in, in the 10 minutes I was there, I got a ticket. Turns out, this Sofitel didn't even reserve the space in front of the hotel as a guest loading / offloading area. It only allows buses.
If you want to offload your guests & luggage, you have to go into a tiny side street, into a small hole in the side of the building and hope there's no one already in the one-car-sized ramp.
You want to park your car? They have you covered. Just go down the dark dirty alley for about a block, turn right, then another left besides the grafittis and the dumpsters (love the smells?), there's the entrance to your 5 star hotel parking garage (or whoever they signed a contract with to use it, because it's not theirs, its actually a public one).

Looking for 5 Star? Stay in the Hilton on Victoria Square instead.

Giving 3 Star rating because staff was amazing and rooms were clean and well kept. The issue is with Sofitel's choices for the hotel; prioritizing profit not guests.

Dear Sofitel Adelaide,
Sincere thanks for a truly lovely stay. The suite was comfortable and had all the amenties I value and more! I was grateful for the mini hairbrush as had left mine at home. The tea selection is great and everything is curated with thought and care.
I loved the bubbly and treats. I would have stayed longer if I had not had plans and will return for a longer stay next time. The wine selection in the club was lovely and breakfast menu offered a varied selection. I left feeling great. The reception staff were engaging and welcoming. Thank you again.

Such an amazing experience! Very nice room with a stunning view! My daughter absolutely loves the room, breakfast and the view! She stated it was her best stay in ADL! We will definitely come back and can’t wait to try swimming next time

Great location – you can walk to almost anywhere! The lobby felt very welcoming with tasteful interior design.

However, there were a few issues. We had booked two rooms in advance and paid upfront , but at check-in, we were only given one room key. Unfortunately, the next guest had already arrived, so I had to join the queue again and wait for my turn to get the second room key.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a highlight – delicious food and lovely service for our group of five. In comparison, breakfast was just okay, with limited options.

During check-out, I noticed a confusing $399 AUD overcharge listed as a "packing fee." Luckily, I checked the bill carefully line by line. Although we paid all expenses under one room, there was still an overcharge on the second room. So be sure to double-check all charges before you leave.

Pool is okay you can access whenever you feel like it.

We stayed for just one night, checking in late around 8pm. We appreciated being granted a 2-hour late checkout.

However, the overall experience was disappointing for a five-star hotel. We attempted to contact reception several times using the in-room phone, but no one answered. This made it difficult to make even simple requests.

Breakfast was well below expectations. It appeared to be a buffet setup, and we served ourselves. Only afterward did a staff member provide a menu, which created confusion about the service style.

Additionally, the cleanliness standards were concerning. One of the water glasses had a strong, unpleasant odor, indicating it hadn’t been cleaned properly. For a hotel of this standard, this was unacceptable.

Overall, the service and quality did not meet the expectations of a five-star rating.
