We’ve had a fantastic experience with Sekisui House Australia. From the initial consultation to the final approval, their team has been incredibly professional, responsive, and supportive. The quality of their homes is outstanding—modern design, energy-efficient features, and thoughtful layouts that truly feel like home.

What really sets Sekisui apart is their customer service. Glen and Mel, in particular, went above and beyond. Mel was also the one who helped us with our first Sekisui property years ago, and it’s been great to reconnect with such a reliable team.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a trustworthy builder with a strong reputation and beautiful homes.

I made an EOI deposit for the off-the-plan Sanctuary - Wentworth Point apartment on March 15, 2025. I transferred the AUD5000 deposit to Colin Biggers & Paisley’s Trust Account. The deposit is fully refundable during the cooling-off period. On March 18th, which was still within the 10-day cooling-off period, I decided not to proceed with the property.

I sent an email to the Sekisui Agent and informed the third-party agent about the cancellation of the purchase. However, it proved challenging for both me and the third-party agent to reach out to the Sekisui agent. After numerous attempts, the agent responded, only asking about the reason for the cancellation. After repeatedly asking about the status, on March 21st she finally informed me the remittance had been sent to the team and I can expect the money within 3-4 working days.

On the 28th, I checked with her again and was informed that she was still waiting for the remittance slip. Despite repeated inquiries from both me any my agent, we haven’t heard from her since then. It’s been almost a week since my last communication, and I haven’t received any updates.

I’ve been waiting for almost three weeks now for the refund. The lack of communication and transparency is deeply concerning to me, and I’m worried that I may not be able to get my money back. This is extremely disappointing to experience such poor service from a developer of this caliber.

I am extremely disappointed with the experience from Lumia Apartments. It's been over a year of delays since I purchased my apartment, and all we've received are excuses. The latest excuse was an electricity strike that was supposedly resolved back in December. Now it's April, and they still haven't obtained the Occupation Certificate. The delays keep piling up, causing significant inconvenience and stress. The developer, Sekisui House, and the builder, Growthbuild, have shown a complete lack of transparency and professionalism. We trusted them with our investment, but they've failed to deliver. The only communication we receive are generic emails with no real updates or estimated completion dates. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would strongly advise anyone considering this developer or builder to think twice.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Sanctuary display house in Wentworth Point today. I visited the location this morning with genuine interest in both residential and commercial spaces, as I am contemplating opening my clinic in the area and possibly moving into the area as well.

Regrettably, there was a lack of a welcoming atmosphere, with no one acknowledging my presence or reciprocating a greeting. I approached a receptionist to inquire about informational materials or brochures regarding the available options, and she kindly mentioned bringing someone specialized to assist me. Shortly thereafter, an elderly Chinese gentleman, whom I assume was associated with the office, came out and conveyed an attitude that suggested a lack of interest in potential buyers.

His initial statement was rather assertive, emphasizing that the building wouldn't be constructed for a couple of years. He kept asking if I knew what off-the-plan is, and that’s fine with me. He seemed to hope that no one wants to buy the apartments as if they are not going to be built forever. His subsequent demeanor became even more rude, repeatedly questioning my financial preparedness in a somewhat mocking manner. Despite having visited various real estate establishments and off-the-plan display houses for my business, and my sister being a local estate agent nearby, I have never encountered such discourteous behavior. His attitude was as if saying, "if you don’t come with a wad of cash, stop bothering me and just leave quickly." He literally said, ā€œlook, we’re not a public service. We only provide service to people who are going to buy.ā€ How does he know if I’m buying or not? And how am I going to buy a $1 million property without knowing anything?

Instead of providing the information I sought, he verbally conveyed apartment prices, just having me standing there while persistently asking if I have that much money. It seemed as if he expected every prospective buyer to come in with a Chanel bag, an assumption that didn't align with my visit after a morning gym session.

I acknowledge the genuine quality of your Shawood site, which I also visited a few months ago. I am hesitant to leave a negative Google review, given the overall positive impression I had of your construction quality, but I strongly believe that what I experienced today isn’t right, and improvements in customer interactions are warranted.

Asked the customer service person assigned to us when the next work will be done, as it's been a month since we made our 2nd progress payment. Didn't get any updates at all even when I asked if there's at least a rough schedule. With the lockdown and all, I couldn't go to the site to check.

Next thing I know, I was getting charged for another progress payment.

Really bad communication. Just hoping the quality of the built for the price we paid is worth it.

Follow-up 15/10/2023:

Staff has contacted me and so far I'm happy with the improvements they've made regarding communication. It's nice to finally know their target dates.

I've passed by the house recently and so far it's looking good.

Update: 24/11/2021

Terrible service. Had a concern about having the wrong thing installed at the house as confirmed by the contractor, Sekisui won't allow me to view house or even send photos for reassurance. They've communicated but gave the wrong info (that they've installed something that wasn't part of the contract).

House is set to finish end of February 2022. Really hoping there won't be any further delays.

I don’t get it. This company has the best, most luxurious pre-fabricated homes in the world.

There home market, Japan is going through population decline as is other surrounding Asian markets. Except Australia.

There’s so many incentives and opportunities for people to build their homes here in Australia, didn’t I hear our PM say he wants 1,000,000 new homes on his watch?

Yet Sekisui doesn’t give the Australian market access to these great home designs!

Have seen the Melrose Park Apartments at Melrose Park, pretty solid quality and beautifully designed by the architects. They also have another project The Orchards at Norwest which I believe will be very amazing as well given its connectivity to Norwest Metro Station.
