The food looks good at times, sadly extremely inconsistent. Portions are inadequate.

Had the shared platter on this occasion. Taste and effort was bland and over priced. Quality and portion size needs to improve. There was so much garnish on this order and came out at room temperature at best.

Yes it was rectified on the day with a refund.
The point is that the above mentioned shouldn't be happening. The inconsistency is a major issue for myself and many of my family and friends especially with prices rising and quality with portion size significantly being reduced. The reality is the cooking staff need to be kept at a higher standard.

Lovely pub, amazing modern bistro very inviting. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Meals were top notch, Presentation faultless and generous portions. Kids play area very handy for the little ones. Definitely recommend Roast of the Day. Roast Pork was lovely, succulent and juicy. Very tender. Will be back!

The Parma in this place is getting smaller and overcooking seems to be the norm. The salad is a joke.
I was at the The Cove in Patterson Lakes the other week and the Parma was excellent, twice the size, much better salad.
We used visit regularly but it’s getting to the point of being overpriced for the quantity and quality.
My family and I ain't coming back here.

Great meals which came out quickly, nice cold beer/wine. Friendly wait staff. Has pokies which we played for a long time on our money(very unusual). Good all round venue also attached accommodation and drive through bottle shop 😀

Dined in the function room - absolutely delicious meals - very friendly staff. Air con way too high (but not sure if anyone asked to turn it down so no dissing). Great for any function.

Wanted to say a huge thank you to the team at the Sands Hotel. We’ve been having dining at The Sands once a week for the last couple of months and the food and service has been fantastic every time. Definitely recommend the Parma, Steak and steak sandwich. The specials are also fantastic too. Huge thank you to the Assistant Manager tonight, she was able to fit us in an hour before our booking. Thank you so much!

On Thursday 15th 2022 - Friday 16th September 2022 I went to Sands Hotel - Carrum downs. As I walked in Jennine smiled at me and I said Hello and told her I was going to my room. The customer service is always perfect. The queen room and the facilities were amazing. It was clean. The shower head was huge and it was spacious inside too. Bed was comfortable and supportive. When I was leaving I met Erin and told her how much I enjoyed staying there. I would love to come back again. She was very welcoming and encouraged us to return again. Amazing. Thank you 😀

On Wednesday 7th September 2022. I went to the Sands Hotel - Carrum downs. I ordered the Southern Fried Burger, Chicken Parma and Lemon, Lime Bitters. I was looked after by Lea and she makes the best drinks and has amazing customer service as well. I can’t wait to return for lunch again. Thank you 😀

I had Fish & Chips with flathead tails. Although the flathead tails aren't gluten-free, I was impressed by how allergy-aware the staff were. Since my family has a Barramundi allergy, the waitress double-checked to ensure the meal was safe for me. I've dined there a few times before & had that dish 3 or 4 times before she was satisfied it was safe!!

I was also pleased to see they offer a gluten-free pavlova, smartly placed separately from other desserts. It made me wonder if a staff member with celiac disease might work there! Many pubs offer gluten-free desserts but place them near regular flour options, making their gluten-free options not celiac-safe.

It's rare for a pub to go out of its way like this. Many offer gluten-free choices but use shared fryers, which isn't safe for celiacs.

While not all staff may be as allergy-aware as today's team, it's a positive step. I hope other venues will follow suit by offering desserts that celiacs can safely enjoy, even in non-certified gluten-free environments. (I was with the 12.15pm booking on table 17) food was delicious too
