Fun surf trip to the Maldives southern atolls in late August 2024. Very laid back. The boat was well set up for surf charters. The surf-guide was excellent and frequently put us in line-ups with decent waves with small to no crowds. Good fishing was a bonus. Johnny, from Saltwater Travel, made the travel "admin" easy. Worth exploring...

Only a week ago arrived back from a trip on the Haira, we were a group of 11 guys from Australia and paid for a 10 night trip. I've been on another boat in the Maldives 3 years earlier but I have to say this trip was SO much better, Air con bedrooms, Air con in the dining room, bar and TV rooms which made a huge difference when your in the heat.
The boat was brilliant, clean and well stocked, the TV room was great with a massive TV and loads of seats to hang out in, the out door areas were big and in the evening fantastic to lounge around in when the heat cools down. Food was good (ask for chili in your omelets) and the bar had loads of drink. The crew were really happy and friendly, i cant fault any of them and our guide (Shab) was fantastic, it was really good having a local with loads of knowledge, we hit some of the reefs around the main island then cruised off to find empty breaks and swell, it didn't disappoint.
Loads of fishing after the surf and lobster boat came past which we took advantage of.
The only things i would suggest to add are: Fishing rod holders, BBQ and a on request BBQ package (we were all hanging out for steaks).
Shab arranged for us to go onto an island for drinks and food one evening and when the wind picked up we went scuba diving for an hour which was cool....
Congratulations on putting together a good crew of guys and creating a great experience - see you again.

Magic uncrowded incredible waves. Amazing food, lots of fresh fish, amazing pumpkin curries. The creme brulee sensational. Best boat trip I've been on and the second one in the Maldives. I loved surfing our own magic wave and being the only boat for most of our twelve days surfing......
Being the only female, there was plenty of room on the boat for down time if you needed. Thanks heaps Saltwater surf travel for organising this amazing trip.

Excellent experience. Everything was well coordinated and ran smoothly. Experienced local guides chose the best locations to surf given wind and swell conditions and went above and beyond to ensure we got good waves. On board chief prepared 3 solid meals a day incorporating the abundance of fresh caught fish. Will definitely return.
