A fantastic enjoyable experience. A very welcoming feel for a mid week Bistro meal. Our meal was superb, Roast of the Day. However menu was your typical pub menu.
Staff very friendly and would definitely return and recommend.

The waitress Zoe was so helpful with my special diet need, she went to check with chef several times to make sure the food met my special diet need. I enjoyed my meal very much.
She is amazing 😊
The other staff there were also very friendly.

A little hidden gem that we found by pure luck.
We had the 3 bedroom family room, no faults at all and was a really great price.
A pub/bistro is attached, good prices and super yummy.
We cannot wait to come back!

Me and my farther recently stayed here to attend the Alexandria Truck show. We were lucky to get a room before the event. Room was beyond clean and welcoming. Staff at the bar/pub were lovely, we will be staying here for next years event. Thank you Melissa and Chantel

The pub it self is very large. Lots of motel rooms. We had room no. 1. It was very basic, front door mat had a huge hole in in it, as welcome. Room had that awful smell of stale locked up room. The bathroom shower needs to be retiled, all broken and chipped. As for the air conditioner it made horrible noise as it warmed up. Sounded like a truck, which kept us awake at night, had to turn it off and be cold. As for the meal, well we ordered the specials and they were awful, over complicated and expensive too. Maybe we should have stuck with pub basics. So our experience was not very good. Which is a shame because it could be a good country pub. Should have observed the lack of clientele for Friday night.

We are regulars to eildon and surrounds and this was the first time trying rubicon hotel for a meal after being recommended by others.

Our experience was less than what was expected and will not be returning.

Starting off, we arrived at 5:20, our booking was at 5:30. We went in and waited at the front desk. We were approached by a female staff who stated very rudely kitchen was not open until 5:30. I had explained we had a table booking for 5:30 and she then had walked away from us.
We weren’t even shown to our table, nothing!

We stood around awaiting until another staff member came up, she pointed from behind the service desk and said our table was table 10.

After looking at the menus, we went back to the counter to order food. We watched others receive their food first, when they had ordered after us.

Once we did receive our food, it was subpar, the kids meals were over cooked and dry.
the gluten free Parma that my daughter ordered was inedible! She only ate the chips and salad with taking 2 bites of this so called Parma which was literally just a breast piece with some shredded ham, sauce and cheese thrown on top. There wasn’t even any crumbing on it.
My daughter was in tears as someone who already struggles with finding decent gluten free food, this was by far the worst received.

Also charged $23.28 for a jug of raspberry soft drink! Absolute rip off.

I do however have to say the squid was quite nice overall and the waitress that served us our food was lovely!

Thank you for your response. Gluten free parmas usually include being crumbed with gluten free breadcrumbs, we have not encountered one without before.

Also, other local businesses have the same jug size and the price is no where near what we were charged.

I recently shared a memorable weekend away with my fiance. I played 54 holes with mates and she was able to relax and soak up the tranquility the location had to offer. She didnt have enough time in 2hr drive back to the big smoke to tell me how she loved her stay and that she can’t wait for the next time we spend a weekend away.

Great spot to drop in for a nice hearty meal. Great service even though it was packed when we were there. All sports on the TV in main bar.
