Visited the pub for a meal on my way through, extensive menu reasonably priced and the food was good.
I had a Himalayan chicken curry and it was tasty, generous portions and it came with a papaya, the meat was really tender and it was all breast meat,
My partner had the butter chicken and it was also good, and a generous portion.
I would recommend eating.here.

Travelling through picturesque Guyra on a bright but chilly day, we stopped at the Royal for lunch and found a warm fire and an even warmer welcome. Extensive menu with great choices. All the food was excellent quality, very tasty, nicely served. Very clean premises - and did I mention the fire? Highly recommend, would definitely come again. Have accommodation too, and Guyra proudly claims the highest caravan park in Australia at 1330m

What a find! A great pub with welcoming warmth & hospitality. The burning fire adding to the ambiance on a cold winters day. The service was brilliant! The food was superb!!! The tastiest steak sandwich I have ever tried. Ingredients were fresh, beautifully cooked and well presented. The menu gave extensive choice and I will definitely look forward to trying the traditional Nepalese fare next time. I would return to Guyra just to eat at this pub! Highly recommend and definitely worth stopping in for a meal.

Delighted to discover this renovated old country pub on the main street. I was greeted warmly by Ganesh, who kept me company with friendly conversation and travel tips for the area. He and Rita made sure I was looked after with cold beers and an absolutely delicious curry for dinner.
Rolled upstairs to my very comfortable room, full as a tick and had a great night’s sleep.
The room was spacious and clean, and the shared bathroom facilities are modern and convenient.
Brilliant value stay for a great price. Highly recommend.

Had feed and a chin wag with owner. Sounded like a good bloke. Food was exceptionally good, service was with a big smile. The atmophere was like a country pub should be. For a country pub I'll definitely be revisiting this pub.

Can't speak highly enough about the food and service at the Royal. There is a huge menu with all tastes catered for including some traditional Nepalese dishes. The owner was very busy making sure everyone was looked after. I highly recommend a stop over and a meal at the Royal.

Very warm welcome, publican coming around to chat and engage with us. Food was delicious and not a long wait. Beautiful restoration and a great warm atmosphere. A fabulous venue.

Arrived in Gyra with family and was looking forward to a delicious lunch. We arrived late, so lunch rush was well and truly over. We walked into a pub full of empty, dirty tables. I ordered our lunch, as I was handed my table number, I turned to try to find a clean table. There were about 3 tables being used by patrons, about 7 empty tables scattered with lunch remnants and glasses, and not one clean table to sit at. We resorted to pushing some plates to the other end of a table to make room for us. There appeared to be one staff member doing everything, including taking accommodation bookings. I know this because he was telling a customer they had a room but they’ve lost the key! My chicken burger eventually came out with a small scattering of chips and fried, Inghams frozen chicken fillet, 2 slithers of tomato & a lettuce leaf on it. I looked for a napkin, but none to be found except the used one at the end of our table. I stood at the bar to ask for one but wasn’t served. I ended up going to the bathroom to wash my hands. There was no soap, however, just a watered down bottle of hand sanitizer which didn’t do the job!
Very underwhelming experience in the town of Gyra. We did get to see snow so that was special!
