Dining area very noisy when full. Decor not designed to reduce noise. Fans weren't on to circulate air so was stuffy. Ordered schnitzel with mash & veg for $31 but got chips & broccoli only, no other veg. Too bad coz its a very nice hotel.

We've been driving through Bungendore every week for several years now, and meaning to check out the Royal after the upgrades. Today, we finally stopped in and had a meal. The food was excellent, I had the Cubano, and my wife had the Royal Burger. Both were excellent! There's a good selection of beers on tap, several different seating spaces throughout, each with a different vibe, as well as an extensive beer garden including outdoor bar, which we assume is only open when it's packed. The renovations look great, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
We'll definitely be back!

Rooms TINY. We were travelling light and yet had to take items out of the room and put them in the common area to try and create some space. Bathroom MINISCULE. |The worst part was that the management had hired a band (if you can call them that), who were absolutely terrible. They severely lacked talent but seemed to think they could compensate by volume. |They were set up in the front bar, directly under the guest bedrooms (match boxes). |I don’t have issues with pubs putting on entertainment for the locals. BUT, royal hotel, make this fact known to people who are booking for the night so they can make an informed choice before you charge them $200 for a miserable experience.|It feels underhanded and like you should refund the money as, clearly, we did not get what we paid for !!

Stopped here for one night. Clean and comfortable rooms. Bistro was great for dinner. Had a blast chatting with the locals and hearing all about Bungendore.

What a find this place is! Beautifuly renovated classic small town pub. Stopped on our way home from Canberra to have a meal. The food is top notch! We had chicken breast snitty, butter chicken & the chicken burger - all fresh & delicious! The portions are generous & great value. Great outside dining area for families & staff were so lovely & efficient. This is now our go to stop between the south coast & Canberra. Thank you ☺️
