I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Royal Australian Mint, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the impressive design of the facility and the welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, offering insightful information about the history of Australian coinage and the minting process.

The interactive exhibits were a highlight, giving visitors a chance to learn about the fascinating techniques behind coin production. I particularly enjoyed watching the live demonstration of coin minting, which was both educational and awe-inspiring. It's amazing to see how precision and craftsmanship come together in creating currency.

The museum also showcases a wide array of historical coins, which adds a rich, cultural dimension to the visit. Whether you're a numismatist or simply curious about Australian history, there's something for everyone. The gift shop offers unique, high-quality souvenirs, including limited-edition coins that are perfect for collectors.

Overall, my visit to the Royal Australian Mint was a highly enriching experience. It's a must-see attraction for anyone in Canberra, whether you're a local or a tourist. I highly recommend a visit!

The 2025 exhibition is brand new. A really enjoyable experience for older kids and adults. Informative well written displays, with many many coins! As a free experience, this should occupy you for 1-2 hrs.

It was great to delve into the history. Plenty to learn. Kids can have a little booklet thing to go around and learn as well. Some of the things were interactive. Can make your own digital coin design which was cool.
There was a section in space too which was nice. And always good to make the special coin at the end.
Small museum. Didn’t have to wait for entry. Didn’t have to book tickets in advance.
Clean. Except for the cafe area. That was trashy. Food wasn’t the best either.
Good use of an hour or two.

Great place to visit for adults and kids. The museum is free, and you can sign up online for a free guided tour.
If you want, you can even mint your own dollar coin! (Bring $3 in coins for the machine).
You can also view the factory floor from above so you can see where the coins are pressed, sorted and counted.
You can do the tour and museum in about 1.5-2hours.

Great place to visit in Canberra to see actual coins in circulation being minted alongside the museum showing the history of Australian currency in fascinating displays. Digitally designed a coin which was added to display wall. Pressed our own $1 coin and bought some unique items from the gift shop. Easily accessed by public transport.

The RAM is on my list every time I go to Canberra. They have just recently revamped the upstairs display and RAM Shop which is a nice change to the old display. They have introduced a new children’s reading corner and lots of interactive displays which have really brought the mint into the new age.
Well worth a visit and lots of very interesting and rare coins on display for any numismatist.
