Based on customer reviews and feedback, the food at Ricky's Malaysian Kitchen is considered average in terms of taste and presentation. While some customers enjoy the chicken rice and wonton noodle soup, others find the rice and noodles lacking compared to other Malaysian restaurants they have visited. However, patrons appreciate the good food, service, and price, making it a convenient choice for a quick meal at the Churchill Centre food court.

I've enjoyed Malaysian food in Malaysia and Melbourne for almost the same price. The rice and noodles here are not as good as in other places I have visited, from presentation to taste. Everything was average, just enough to fill the stomach on a chilly autumn afternoon.

Quick and simple Malaysian food. Servings are skimpy for price but the flavours are always right. The service is a hit and miss, some days you may even see her crack a smile.

I gave 1 star to its atmosphere only because it’s in a food court, so don’t expect anything.
Food is ok, normal size, reasonable price in a food court, could have more chicken though.
The cashier was nice and polite, so that’s all any resto needs do to to get 5 stars from me lmao

Malaysian stall in Churchill Centre food court. The pictures looked so good and inviting. For a reasonable price. But what was served was completely different from the pictures advertised. Misrepresentation much? The crispy pork wasn't even crispy, they were so small I can barely taste any skin on each piece. They were skimming even on their vegetables. Got served the stems, no leaves even. And what's worse is the attitude of the chef. He responded with 'that's what you get for $12.50'. Well if I knew I was going to get this instead of what you initially advertised, I'd happily spend my money elsewhere where'd I'd get something I actually ordered.

I have been wanting to try the dish here ever since finding out that the original owner of Ricky's moved and operated an entirely new establishment.
I would say, this place definitely lives up to the the hype & can easily be the best chicken rice I've tried in Adelaide.
Every single components of the dish are lovingly made, from the soft, succulent, flavourful chicken pieces doused in fragrant soy sauce with a hint of garlic and sesame oil, which have been kindly provided an extra bowl of, just in case you need more to pair with the rice with just enough fluffiness in each grain and complement the protein really well.
The star of the dish, in my opinion, is the combo of chili sauce, with plenty of kick and tanginess that brighten the dish and the oh-so-fragrant and more-ish ginger sauce (which I am dieing to know the secret mix of).
Now the soup, oh the soup !
The soup that often seen as an afterthought in most Southern Chinese cooking is beautifully seasoned chicken broth with a hint of pepper and plenty of leek and fried onions, full of umami and very fragrant. My only slight is, I wish they served more of the chicken soup!
For a ten dollars meal, it will be very difficult to find other dish that can beat the quality of the dish. Can't wait to return and try their order dishes such as kolo mee and crispy roast pork.

Amazing food and service. Great value! The side sauces are incredible. Cannot speak highly enough of this kitchen. Atmosphere is difficult because it was my children screaming and running amok at the playground nearby. However, there is seating further from the park to those who don't like children. Bonus for parents though, as there is an indoor playground to distract the children whilst you partake of the delicious meal.
This is my new first choice in the Churchill shopping centre.
