This is a restaurant run by deco hotel. It is located inside the hotel at ground floor. We arrived Canberra late during our visit and opted to dine in the hotel restaurant for convenience. And we were very pleased with our dinner choices. We got ourselves fish of the day (barramundi) and medium well Sirloin Steak (250g). Foods were tasty and well presented.

Great meals and very professional staff. Shout out to Fung our waiter. Awesome table service. We chose simple light meals, but the meals that other customers had looked fantastic. Fish was crispy along with chips and a large serve. Black rice arancini was lovely.

Simply outstanding. Pleasant and stylish restaurant with fantastic food.
The focaccia (see picture) with ricotta, mortadella and pistachio pesto was heavenly.
Our mezze maniche was exquisite and the spaghetti puttanesca, with a goat cheese twist, was fabulous. Our dolci, torta della nonna and millefoglie, were equally excellent.
The wine list was also a pleasant surprise. A good mix of domestic and Italian wines for reasonable prices. Each item on the menu has a wine suggestion which is a genuinely good idea but I would extend it to the desserts also. I paired my torta della nonna with a fine glass of Moscato but I had to look for it and nearly missed it on the wine menu.

We’ve had some outstanding meals during our one month Australian trip and this one ranks at the very top. Bravissimo!!!

So after reading such great reviews we thought we would have dinner there. Unfortunately our experience was quite the opposite to most.
Entree plates were delivered to the table in a pile with the cutlery stacked on top, we had to set our own table. The wine was also just placed on the table unopened.
Fish of the day was trout, you don't see trout very often as fish of the day but being Italian restaurant I thought great. When you see trout on a menu you expect a freshwater fish not ocean trout which was actually served. I tried to explain this to the waitress but she totally oblivious to what trout actually was so I didn't push the point and its more than likely not her fault but the person who wrote the menu.

Entrees were great but the mains and service mediocre.

I did send a polite email directly to the restaurant but with no reply. Obviously they don't really care about what the public think.

WON'T BE BACK.

Excellent food. I chose from the daily chef's special, veal involtini and hazelnut millefoglie. Service was pleasant, gave time between courses before asking if i wanted anything else, which i appreciate. The setting and decor haa a nice ambience. Whether staying at the hotel, or just for the restaurant, i am very happy to recommend.

A hidden gem. A new hotel based restaurant, but it’s very good for what it’s there to do. The Tuesday chicken schnitzel special was heaps better than you’ll at the usual inner city haunts.

The kitchen opening times on Google are incorrect, I arrived 9pm Sunday night. Kitchen was closing but the staff were very friendly and helpful and prepared a quick meal. Very nice.

The service was poor from the get go. I’ve never been to a restaurant where the waitstaff seemingly don’t know what they’re doing. From congregations around the ordering system with vacant expressions, to ignoring the chef ringing the bell at the pass, to forgetting which tables have had their order taken.

The food itself wasn’t too bad (black rice and roast pumpkin salad, squid ink linguine, tiramisu and hazelnut mille-feuile), but it took an hour from the time it was ordered for it to make it to our table… people that arrived after us got their food before us which was pretty frustrating.

For a total of $112 (including a “card-handling” fee and public holiday surcharge) it was daylight robbery!
