My wife and I just returned from a six-week trip to Canada and Alaska. We initially contacted Rane with a random and eclectic wishlist, and he did an amazing job. He was actually able to put it all together. Places we stayed: Toronto; Niagara Falls; Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Quebec City; Vancouver; Anchorage; Fairbanks; Coldfoot; Seattle; Banff; Lake Louise and Jasper.

The trip covered 5 different time zones, 12 commercial flights with 3 different airlines (Virgin Australia, Air Canada and Alaska Air), a helicopter (Niagara Falls), 2 small seaplane experiences (Vancouver to Victoria, Vancouver Island and a 3hr flightseeing tour over Denali National Park), a small plane (Coldfoot to Fairbanks) a car ferry (Vancouver Island to Vancouver), a couple of coach/shuttle transfers, an overnight on a rail sleeper (VIA Rail. Jasper to Vancouver), and a self-drive portion (Calgary  Banff  Lake Louise  Jasper). We also linked in with different half and one day tours. And a 7-day cruise from Vancouver to Whittier, Alaska, via the Inside Passage (Holland America Line, Nieuw Amsterdam). Ports of call were Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. Also, Glacier Bay + John Hopkins Inlet and College Fjord.

The tour and transfer from Whittier to Anchorage we expected to have several other passengers, but it was just ourselves and the tour guide.
The flight over Denali we expected to have several other passengers, but it was just ourselves and the pilot. We crossed the Arctic Circle. We saw Aurora. And not just once. Big tick on bucket list!!! We walked on a glacier. We experienced a range of climates for which we needed a range of clothing. Ie from short sleeves to thermals and beanies. We experienced the appearance of some snow as a lead into winter. We saw a range of wildlife, both in the wild and at the Conservation Centre.

What can we summarise about our trip?! There were too many highlights to pick just one. We feel incredibly blessed by all we experienced and saw. We saw absolutely stunning, breathtaking scenery and locations. God’s creation at some of it awesome finest.
