I celebrated my 30th birthday party at Reflections - Lake Cooby, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From the moment we started planning the event, the staff at Reflections were incredibly helpful and accommodating, making the entire process stress-free and enjoyable.

The property itself is absolutely stunning, with beautiful landscapes and a serene atmosphere that made for the perfect backdrop for our celebration. We had friends camp on the property as well as stay in the cabins on-site, and everyone was impressed with the comfort and amenities provided.

Reflections Lake Cooby is the perfect wedding venue! From the moment we arrived, we were in love with the beautiful green lawn and the amazing options for both the barn and marquee. The setting was absolutely stunning, providing the ideal backdrop for our special day.

One of the highlights was the bonfire, which created such a cozy and memorable atmosphere for our guests. The on-site accommodation was a huge plus, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time without any worries. We even had a lovely breakfast in the kitchen the next morning, which was a nice touch!

The gorgeous sunset over the lake was the cherry on top, adding to the relaxed and stunning vibe of the venue. The staff were friendly, communicative, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, making everything run smoothly.

Our team at Queensland Country Tourism recently held our annual strategy day at Reflections Lake Cooby, and the experience was fantastic. The beautiful drive out set the tone for a day of fresh thinking and connection.

The scenic views over Lake Cooby were a real highlight, especially while we enjoyed a relaxed lunch on the verandah. The peaceful setting created the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations and reflection.

Our meeting space was comfortable, well-equipped, and suited our needs perfectly. The functions team were incredibly helpful in planning the day, including activity arrangements. A big thank you to Jodi, who made the process smooth and stress-free with her friendly support and attention to detail.

I strongly advise anyone considering booking accommodation at Reflections - Lake Cooby to read every fine detail in their terms and conditions. Whether you’re booking for a wedding or just a weekend stay, be aware that you are required to pay the full amount upfront—not a standard deposit. If anything outside your control happens, like extreme weather, you will not get your money back, regardless of the circumstances.

Their booking policy is deceptive—they take 100% of the payment upfront, calling it a “deposit,” but there is no option for a partial refund if something happens outside your control. Even in a situation of extreme weather, the venue forces you to cancel/postpone, they will refuse to consider refunds, hiding behind fine print while keeping your money.

To make matters worse, their customer service is appalling. They ignore emails for weeks unless you follow up multiple times. Meanwhile, they are active on social media, responding to public comments but completely disregarding paying customers. The General Manager has shown zero remorse for our situation and clearly does not care about fairness or guest satisfaction. This kind of unprofessionalism and lack of basic decency is shocking for a venue that relies on events and weddings.

If you value your money, time, and sanity, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Once they have your money, you won’t get it back, no matter the circumstances.

A hidden gem located just 30 minutes north of Toowoomba, nestled right next to Lake Cooby. We stayed in a 2-person bell tent. The tent is beautifully decorated inside, and we love the heater and electric blankets!

It is a very peaceful and quiet campsite, just what we needed for a refreshing getaway from our busy city lives. We even had kangaroos visit us in the evening! You might spot hawks and other wild animals if you look closely. We loved the campfire and gazing at the Milky Way filling up the night sky.

During the day, we kayaked around Lake Cooby, read books under the trees, and went hiking.. just what we need for a get away!

The hosts, Chris and Zoe, are very responsive and answered all our questions. We had no trouble communicating with them. The staff at check-in was also very kind and friendly. She showed us around the campsite and provided clear instructions about the place.

Overall, we loved the getaway so much and will definitely come back!

A warning to Brides & Grooms.
You would assume a wedding venue would have compassion for Brides and Grooms as this is the industry they have chosen to work in. If you would like to get a call 2 days before your wedding that it is cancelled then this is the place for you! Better yet, they get to keep the entire cost AND all of the accommodation money paid by the guests.

I can appreciate the risks involved during cyclone Alfred, but the wedding was relocated last minute to a beautiful venue called Adora Downs, where we enjoyed a lovely afternoon and evening - with no rain! When booking your accommodation please take note that the non refundable "deposit" is required to be the FULL AMOUNT, an example of shady policies.

Nothing offered but a rescheduling of the date - now imagine 2 days before your wedding having to contact your photographer, caterer, dj, celebrant, florist and your ENTIRE guest list to reschedule, an absurd expectation on behalf of the venue.

I can see there is another review from years ago about a refund policy issue. May this be another formal complaint that suggests the business should revisit their policies and contracts, and address incorrect terms such as the accommodation "deposit".

We attended a function at Reflections recently. We were so impressed by the professionalism of the staff and quality of the food. The backdrop overlooking the lake as the sun was setting was absolutely stunning. And so close to Toowoomba! Love this venue and highly recommend!!
