Driving in the gorge and this lookout are definitely the highlights of the area!

We were driving with our 4x4 with a RTT on it and was very smooth. We saw some small cars do it, but it may take some time then.

It’s quite close to the campground and if you’re coming from the east you can do it easily and fast, coming from the west and through the gorge it is bit rough.

We thought we will spend 1 or 2 hours driving the loop, spend around 4 or 5 hours, doing heaps of stops and pictures.

Possibly the most photographed point, but still really pretty. Easily accessible with a 2WD (January ‘25). A little earlier on the road there is also a stop with a little hike and camping table.

Views were good but there was absolutely not a single soul at any lookouts when we came (Summer- Jan2025).
Road leading up to lookout was easy for 2WD Tesla so really any car can make it.

To get here you need to drive 30-40 minutes on unsealed road. So make sure your car is up to the task!

It’s a popular lookout but there isn’t really a proper car park. You just stop at the top of a ledge, just need to find space for your car.

If you don’t have a high clearance car, turn back and return the way you came. If you continue on there are sections where water has flooded the road and you’ll get stuck.

Amazing view without needing to hike, my fav lookout point in SA! We enjoyed the scenery during the drive with plenty of wild emus. 4WD recommended.

Great lookout spot, though I recommend the Bunyeroo Lookout just a few kms up the road as it has more parking and similar views.

Flinders ranges is a must see in SA, we just wish we could have spent more time here. The historical information on the boards is so educational.

It is some drive down a dirt road, with a requirement of 4WD. But absolutely worth it. Such a beautiful sunrise we enjoyed here
