I recently embarked on an unforgettable white-water rafting adventure with Raging Thunder, and it was an absolute thrill from start to finish! A massive shout-out to Ash, our awesome guide, who ensured a safe and enjoyable experience, expertly navigating us through exhilarating rapids on the Tully. Another shout-out to Tom or Harry (I can't recall his name) who was super enthusiastic and made the safety briefings fun. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic day out!

Great half day rafting with awesome guide Kyle. Really safety conscious and full of local knowledge about the river. Perfect balance of teaching technique to children rafting for the first time and thrilling river and rock rapids. Loved the tumbles and splashes. Can't wait to come back and do more! Thanks Kyle!!

Took the time to review them as I haven’t had a worst experience like this before. We were taken on a ripped boat for river rafting with water getting in till our knees and hitting rocks even after the crew knew that wasn’t safe. We asked if we should be going ahead as we didn’t feel it was safe to go in that boat .We asked if we should wait for a backup boat to arrive but clearly they didn’t have a backup. All our questions were ignored and they kept telling us it was safe as they did it all the time( seriously!!) Long story short 10 mins into the rafting we had to stop as the boat filled up and got out and walked between the rocks to get to the road. Again that was unsafe too but our guide Jay helped us get back safe luckily. Why would someone compromise on risk and take you when this rip was known to them from the start and wasn’t something that happened mid way through. And now its been 2.5 weeks since the incident they haven’t even refunded our money. So highly recommend caution with this company. Andy who was the lead and decision maker on the day could have done a better job.

We recently went on a water rafting experience on the 9th of October 2024 , and it was a disappointing experience. Initially everything seemed fine and when we started rafting, our boat was exchanged with a ruined boat which had a hole and a different family had already sat on it. This was something not conveyed to us and we started rafting on that boat and our raft had a slow leak that made for an uncomfortable journey.
We had to follow up with the company several times for the refund and got our money back later. We spent more time waiting around than actually rafting, which was frustrating.
I wouldn’t recommend this rafting company to anyone looking for a thrilling outdoor activity.

Held myself off from putting a review, but I think it's necessary to share is what we feel.
I wouldnt to go with Raging Thunder because of the flooded raft experience we had.

9th October - Afternoon Rafting at Barron River.
3 of us were put on a raft with 5 others including the guide. The raft was all good. We just started off and was asked to come back, got us off the raft and put on a raft which had a hole in it and everyone could clearly see the water getting in. I think safety was breached and compromised right there. We did ask about a new boat, but no clear answers were given to that.

We did ask Andy (The lead), was it safe to do so and why we were asked to swap the raft with others. He said our raft with hole wouldn't sink (when we could clearly see water getting in) because we were light weighted. There was another raft with few kids who were more light weighted. We did ask why they were not asked to swap and why us ? He did not have any answer to that. The decision by Andy wasn't a good one for sure.

We do understand mistakes happen, but they shouldn't have put us on a raft which was sinking, where water was on our knee hight, and our legs hitting the rocks below.

5 min after our broken raft got into the water, raft started flooding inside. Our guide said it was fine, few more min later, there was more water inside and legs hitting the rocks below, and we asked our guide to stop the session. We were taken to the rocks nearby, had to hike/climb to the top.

If there was an option to thank and give 5 star to our raft guide, I would give it to him who listened to us, got us safe to the rocks and helped us back to the roads. So did he say that this wasn't a safe idea to do so.

We are still waiting for the refund which an employee said was processed on the 10th of Oct. On 18th, I got another email saying the refund has been processed on 18th. Nobody has an explanation to why the delay ?

All our questions were actually unanswered on that day and same till date with the refund.

Would recommend everyone to book your session with caution and stay Safe.

Thanks,
Deepak Sivanandan
