So, I got a rail bed. Not very comfortable but beats the awful seats in the other carriage. A few movies to watch, not bad. 3 meals included, edible and enough for the journey. Also servings of coffee, tea and water etc. But the staff are outstanding. Couldn't do enough for passengers and always with a smile. Well done to them.

Mixed bag. Some staff go above and beyond, others are seat warmers who prefer to spend their working hours on personal calls. The new improved website is a basket case with more bugs than the Amazon had before it was destroyed. Clearly the culture of Queensland Rail conforms to that of officialdom generally, no accountability, total disinterest on the part of management, and most probably no job satisfaction. Those precious few staff who do care are not valued and are outnumbered by the drones.

Very large part of the old Railway Workshop is used as the museum. Some parts are dated and require and getting an update. Wonderful sections for children in a few area's and special attractions on school holidays. Discount for seniors and yearly passes available. Good cafe on site or passouts if you'd like to take your own picnic

Rob, at the ticketing counter is always really helpful. Always able to answer any question no matter the train timetable or train. A valuable and extremely helpful person I hope he never leaves.
Terry, who works on the trains is just as helpful and a wealth of funny jokes no matter the age of the traveller.
These two (2) gentleman make using the train out of Bundaberg a pleasurable experience even at 5:00 am.

Lovely staff and extremely helpful. ..Would highly recommend the Spirit of Queensland Train . Economy Class is Lovely and food is great , every seat is a lovely wide leather recliner and every one has there own TV , power points and USB ports. Would highly recommend going on this over the Tilt Train. Cheers Deb ?. ....
