Great service, great atmosphere and great food. The Parma was better than any other in Ballarat. Chips crunchy and good flavour. Free kids meal was a plus for us. Only gripe was the salad dressing it was just a bity vinegar- there’s so many better options.

We really enjoyed our meal and drinks at The Queens Head Hotel last weekend. The food portions are epic, like a real big pub meal. The deserts, you can definitely share the delicious-ness. We tried the apple crumble and brownie between 3 of us. So good, I’m still dreaming about that brownie!
We played some board games, too, and loved the atmosphere of the old decor. The new owners are doing a great job.

Scotch egg and Parma where both great, kids loved their meals too. Staff all friendly, the sparkling bitter beer was 10/10.

Went to Trivia night on a Thursday. Although the food was very good we waited a very long time for our food and our entree came out with our mains and after everyone else on our table ordered, and has finished their meals. After waiting about 40 minutes I went up to the kitchen just reminding the ladies and they were not very polite and didn’t want to listen. I also had got salad after asking for veg.
Trivia night brought a good vibe and a fun atmosphere

Not too sure about the previous 5 star reviews since the new owners took over as we certainly did not experience any 5 stars meals tonight.
We planned our dinner for a birthday based on the reviews since the new owners took over.
It started with such a long wait for our food order and even with the trivia on in the dining room, the dining room was not full.

The meals and the quality of the food was a huge letdown for the total price we spent for 4 people.
After our meals we were not even tempted to pay out anymore money for deserts or more drinks.

The vegetables were overcooked and definitely old.
Carrots were unbelievably grey, cauliflower was grey, broccoli was turning yellow.
The vegetables should not have been served and should have been given to the neighbourhood chickens.
The mash potato was not beautiful and creamy how it should be served but dry with minimal milk and butter and no seasoning.
Lamb cutlets were deep fried and served dark overcooked crumbs.
The Kiev was overcooked and so dry
Meals served with cold chips.
Mushroom sauce was so watery with minimal mushroom in it.

We witnessed some other tables waiting for their food being very unsettled as well with meals being delivered inconsistently where others on their table had finished their meals before others even receiving their meal.

I know this review would seem really harsh but having had several restaurants interstate ourselves our feedback needs to be truthful so the owners can address the issue if they truely want to succeed.
Last thing we want to see is another business gone bust through lack of care by their chef/cooks.

Bang on meal. No other words needed. Chicken Snitz with mushroom gravy and the special of barramundi with a Thai curry sauce and rice.

New owners and much improved experience. Had a chicken burger with wedges for dinner, chicken thigh was breaded to perfection, toasted bun, slaw, cheese, aioli, and jalepenos. Great atmosphere and staff were helpful, chatty and all in all good pub for dinner.
