We had a wonderful and relaxing 60-minute trip on the PS Pyap Paddle Steamer. The ride was serene, and the guide was incredibly informative, sharing fascinating details about the paddle steamer and the Little Murray River. It was stunning to see the gorgeous red gums and the river’s beauty by boat. We also enjoyed the convenience of buying drinks and ice creams onboard. The souvenir shop had great goodies, and the friendly staff made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this trip for anyone looking to explore the river in a unique and peaceful way!

The one hour cruise is worth doing for a leisurely cruise but if you have done the ones in Echuca, then perhaps this may be a few rungs below in scenery. Also the fact that this paddlesteamer runs on diesel - as such the workings of a coal fired steam engine with all the yesteryear charm is missing. The Skipper is sparse with his commentary - so keep your eyes peeled as there are quite a lot of river & estuary birds that are interesting to spot - herons, spoonbills, darters etc. Pioneer Settlement volunteers & staff are just so welcoming & helpful. But the same can't be said about the ones here. While safety rules are to be adhered to - why walk around with an invisible ruler & a sour face!
You can purchase a separate tix to do the cruise only & be shown where the Jetty is but not be allowed to wander around.

My first impressions of the ship were excitement and enthusiasm, and not much changed. The ride is smooth, apart from when the captain changes speed/direction, and the boat in a way “drifts” around a few turns adding some more excitement. Staff also converse with passengers, although it seems to end quite quickly.

There are a small amount of food options on the ship (which is quite surprising for such a small one) like, ice cream, snacks, drinks including alcohol and soft drinks. They also, surprisingly, have toilets, although quite small, they are in good condition.

The reason this lost a star is because of 2 reasons. Safety briefing and announcements (over PA) were nearly unintelligible to the untrained ear, and the staff on the boat was a bit unhappy (apart from the dude at the kiosk, he was smiling quite a bit).

Overall I rate this 4/5 definitely recommend it to people who want a more relaxed time.

Normally I don't give 1 star but this time I have to. We bought 2 tickets for the cruise and the lady was so rude for me people like this not supposed to be working ( Saturday 03/06/2023) only because we decided to do only the cruise and not the tour. She told us million times when we got back at 2pm not to go anywhere because we didn't pay for the tour and finished the tour to go straight away to the exit. Dear lady if I want to do the tour I will pay for it no need to make us feel like we try to snitch in.

Great experience. I had been on Pyap before when the river was much higher, which gives better viewing and much easier for the captain to navigate, but today was beautiful weather, great company.

Nice relaxing cruise on the river. Kids loved it. Also enjoyed a beer while watching the scenery go by. Only runs twice a day so in busy season get tickets early.

When in swan hill it's a must as well as pioneer village and light show good educational theme
