Absolutely spectacular! So good we went back 2 days later! Great use of local ingredients. Stunning food. Exceptional beer! This pub could get away with being above average and still do reasonable business….but it is up there with any high quality food in Adelaide or Melbourne and the setting is second to none! Hats off! We’ll be back.

Stayed here for 1 night and had the feral feast. We absolutely loved it! Outback pub going fancy. The food was great and shout out to the staff who went above and beyond to meet our needs.
If you feel like having an outback experience without all the hustle and dirt this is for you. Also, try their beers! It's worth it!

Stayed for one night in a Heritage Room.
Food was beautiful (had tea and breakfast) and service from all staff was amazing.
Sadly the room let us down. We had a droning noise coming from what seemed to come from the kitchen which went on all night which didn't give us a good sleep...
If you stay here suggest booking rooms closer to the car park end.

Absolutely devastated to see what has happened to this place. Used to be a fantastic outback pub now too yuppy and only their own beer. I left the city to experience the outback and not pay $90 for a steak with two small potatoes and having to pay $7 extra to have a small handful of chips with a tiny flavourless burger. Food options and more like a city restaurant. Super expensive for what you get.
The charm has definitely been destroyed.

We had a short but wonderful time at the Prairie Hotel at Parachilna for one night to enjoy the famous Feral Feast Long Banquet and a night in the superb self-contained Flinders Room for bed and breakfast which was super comfy.

Ellie and the wonderful team at the Prairie Hotel know how to take care of guests... everyone took exceptional care of us. It was definitely worth the effort to come up from Adelaide to visit!!

The Feral Feast Long Banquet was both pleasing to the eye as well as the taste buds... Fresh and flavoursome! See the menu and photos attached...

We had the option to dine in the main dining room which is what we actually booked, but were given the choice to sit out on the front veranda facing West so we could actually watch the sunset as we dined... Which is what we chose... And it was a beautiful way to enjoy the evening.

And our room in the dedicated accommodation wing was spacious, modern, comfortable and well appointed having recently been renovated / updated along with the rest of the hotel.

Health permitting we would love to come back again to explore your menu further as well as the broader Northern Flinders Ranges some more! Thanks for having us..!
