Mad a bad decision to walk into this establishment today to discuss a trip in November. Apparently I had the gall to walk in without an appointment. Was met by a lone woman whom stared at me like I was asking her to donate a kidney and I was in the wrong place. Apparently she’s not taking any new customers. Which is fine..but there’s a way to relay that info without being rude!!She reports that covid has hit them so hard and went on to display all the travel cases she had to get through.!! Don’t talk to me about covid Karen.. I’m an emergency nurse working in the thick of it for the past 3yrs. Don’t need to be schooled on covid thank you. Just trying to organise a nice little trip here. 🙄Quite possibly the rudest customer service I have encountered since moving to port Melbourne. Cheers Karen . I’ll sort my own trip out 👍
Response from owner. Yes you did refer me to other agents, with an undercurrent of dismissal. We’ll agree to disagree on the hostile reception I received when I first walked in. If you see nothing wrong with how you first interacted with me Then you’ve got a warped sense of customer service.

I walked into Port Travel, a travel agency two doors down from our Port Melbourne based salon. I went in to talk to someone about planning a possible Europe trip.

As a business owner and a neighbour I wanted to support a local business. This is heavily encouraged by the community groups like Port Melbourne Mums In Business Port Melbourne 3207 .

Unfortunately, I was met with poor customer service.I walked in and said hi, no one greeted me back or bothered to reply. I stood around the reception desk waiting for someone to acknowledge me. I was ignored, however I could see one of the women in there was on the phone. So, I thought I would take a seat in the waiting area.

The women assumed I had left and started to talk about me. I heard them make snarky remarks like "She's the eyelash lady, she probably wanted me to print something for her"

I stood up to make it clear I hadn't left yet, I pretended to read the catalogues available and STILL NO ONE acknowledged me. I walked out and STILL NOTHING!

I'm not sure if this is common practice but I won't be returning. I will be reposting this review because I don't think it's fair for anyone to feel this uncomfortable or unwelcome.

Hi, thank you for your response.

I don’t appreciate you coming into my workplace, yelling in front of my clients and staff. Then calling me on our work phone & threatening to harass me until this is taken down. If you would like to apologise you can do this via email. I don’t and won’t respond to your aggressive approach especially in front of clients and/or my staff.

I understand you were on the phone and I acknowledged that in my original review which is why I took a seat & waited patiently whilst you made snarky remarks about me with your book keeper.

I haven’t made any racist comments and if you think I have then please explain. Also, I haven’t asked any of my staff to make any reviews. This is a personal matter which I experienced as a person not as a business.

As mentioned earlier, if you would like to apologise then you can contact me via email. Please respect me and my staff and refrain from yelling/making a scene in front of our clients.
