I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Accident & Emergency team at Port Pirie Hospital for the exceptional care provided to my father on 28th May 2025. From the moment he arrived, both the day and night teams displayed extraordinary professionalism, compassion, and dedication.

A special thank you to Dr. Nancy and Dr. Matthew, whose commitment and calm expertise were deeply reassuring during an incredibly difficult time for our family. Their willingness to go above and beyond did not go unnoticed.

We would also like to commend the day RN and night shift team leader, who demonstrated outstanding leadership and clinical excellence throughout. Their attentiveness and competence gave us great comfort and confidence in the care being delivered.

Port Pirie should be immensely proud of the incredible medical professionals serving in its Emergency Department. Their hard work, empathy, and unwavering dedication made all the difference during a critical moment for our family, and we are truly grateful.

Very pleased with the care and attention received this morning for my wife. Very professional and thorough care. All the staff were terrific and a big shout out to Bella who went the extra mile for us, thank you. Very impressed with this hospital.

Was told to travel to lewn mcewin in Adelaide as they refused to treat my partner who was in labour with covid, was sent home in the morning from Adelaide hospital, 3 hours after getting home she was getting worse, pirie hospital again refused treatment telling us go back to Adelaide again, uniting care got involved as a third party, ONLY then did they agree to treat her, which then required an emergency airlift back to Adelaide.

Staff frequently speak ill of clients behind their backs on work phones, especially c ward.

Comments such as they should be forced to have their tubes tied etc.

This worker I personally witnessed doing this left on her own accord and now works at Port Pirie uniting care in the NDIS unit

Edit, they have now left Port Pirie. 1 issue of many resolved.

Th five star comments are by friends of hospital staff or the staff themselves.
This is a incompetent health service.
Have had xrays which show my foot is broken and been sitting in the corner of triage waiting room for a couple of hours now woth no sympathy. Nobody keeping updated. Just keep saying "is busy" which is usual for a hospital.
This whole emergency staff and set up need a do over

Staff was helpful and did not brush you off or make you feel like you were a criminal for seeking medical help after hours like some other places have

We arrived with my husband in horrific pain. The staff were warey at first until I explained that he had a AAA performed 5 weeks prior. They couldn't do enough called the radiographer in to check he didn't have a new tare in the end he was air lifted to the RAH. I glad his problem happened in Pirie not at home near Wallaroo as there they would have just sent him on as it would have been in the too hard basket.
