Beautiful scenery and a lovely estate. I had
the Three P’s pizza which had prosciutto, pear and Parmesan which was then topped with rocket and balsamic glaze. It was absolutely delicious and big enough for 2. Every element was tasty and perfectly proportioned.

Good boutique winery- $8 wine tasting starting with whites and goes on to their award winning Cab Sauv. Cute restaurant with a basic menu - gets loud due to the limited space. Great vineyard views and friendly customer service. Plenty of free parking out front.

I go to Paynes Rise regularly with my riding girlfriends. We are always made welcome, even if we are still in our boots and jods. The food is great and well priced, the wines are lovely. The service is warm and welcoming. Its our happy place for lunch, the scenery is so beautiful.

First Australian vine experience. The decor, the scenery, nothing to say about that. Even the place seems quite authentic and comfy. They seem to have a spot for private gatherings.
We had a booking online and everything was fine. We also asked for a wine tasting, no feedback. Maybe they were booked but I thought maybe just a reply. Anyway. They have multiple wines(of course) beers and ciders available, which is interesting. Prices are a bit above average. The pizza I ordered was ok, but not worth the price. Maybe it's the added value of the place. The service was ok but quite cold from the start to finish. Is it the stress or was it a bad day. Dunno. The place is ok but I won't say it's an experience I want to repeat.

We went to Paynes Rise on Sunday and it was flat out.
The two ladies behind the bar were absolutely run off their feet but handled the pressure like absolute champions. So organised and composed they were brilliant..

Service and food were spot on

The views are incredible too

Absolutely recommend Paynes Rise!

Beautiful setting, comfortable dining area.
We loved our meals. The mushroom risotto was the best I’ve had. The meatballs in herb tomato sauce were also very good. Crème brûlée was delicious. We managed to fit that in, just! A really delicious meal.

A nice little vineyard and cellar door. Simple menu with woodfired pizza, usual suspects for Yarra Valley cool climate wines, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cab Sav, Shiraz - 6 varieties on tasting, all pleasant. Excellent grounds and views. Historic homestead a bonus. Pizza dough was a little thick but toppings were nice. Lots of open space for kids to run amok or for just chilling on the lawns.

Came highly recommended from friends of ours. Great little spot with nice views of the nearby hills. Plenty of space outside to sit and admire the view. Staff were accommodating for the two of us as walk-ins on a busy day.
We shared a pizza and meatballs for lunch, which were good. Had to hunt down menus from a staff member, which was ok as mentioned before they were busy (a staff member also did mention they were a little unprepared and understaffed that day).
All in all a pleasant experience, we will be back for a wine tasting!
