Online reviews were quite good, however I'm guessing the property has changed hands since these reviews were written.
We took one look at the room and cancelled.
Very run down property. Room had a bad smell.
We cancelled and left.
I wouldn't recommend staying here.
Found a hotel up the road for $20 more that was immaculate.

What can I say, The name of “paradise” can not justify the actual status of this hotel.
Unclean, dirty carpets, torn curtails, aircon not working, everything in the fridge froze and couldn’t dial down, no room service (I had to go to reception to get clean towels) and when I told them I wanted to have fresh towels every day, they opened the front door and dropped them just inside the door.
Just to give you an idea how sad the service was, I took out the coffee cups out of the cupboard to find out that they had mould still in them.
The only plus was the sheets were clean on the first day (but not changed or beds made for the 5 days we were there), and the room size was pleasantly roomy.
Not coming back here again 😞

Generous sized room and good clean facilities. One of the pillows was quite hard but luckily the others were soft enough. The free wifi was barely 2 bars and frequently dropped out and I was in a room across from the office, resorted to using my mobile as a hotspot

It was okay for one night. I got the room because it was cheap. When you entered the property it was run down and needs an update. I went to reception and had to get my own UHT milk out of the fridge, they could've put it in the room prior to my arrival. I was by myself and felt quite isolated out there on the freeway. I won't be staying there again. It was clean but very basic. I won't be staying there again. It could do with a lot of updating.

I'd say it was lovely in its day, now it needs some serious work. The room was clean but the bed was worn out & the rest was very basic. Gardens would be gorgeous if they actually weeded them & mowed properly. The front reception is an eye sore dirty & messy! I almost drove out , I wish I had read thru the reviews thoroughly.

If this is an overnight stop in the middle of a road trip, it will give you everything you need.
- clean room
- hot shower
- a place to rest your head.
Plus the rates are cheaper if you book via their website.
Surprisingly lovely view of the river from your back door.

I think bulk of the reviews are from an older/ different management of the hotel.
- rooms are dated (but functional).
- couldn’t find the wifi password anywhere.
- foxtel is so snowy on screen, just stick with regular tv.
- pool water isn’t green, but the pool itself needs draining and a good clean, I probably would avoid.
- gardens aren’t as well maintained as shown in older photos.
- out the back “patio” area had broken lights, broken glass, junk from older guests. Great view of the river and could be a lovely place to sit if cleaned up.

Very nice place for the price. I was comfortable in the rooms.

Many people commented on the soft beds: yes they were soft but too soft to be comfortable at night on our poor backs!

Rooms looked cleaned, but were a bit gloomy: we really prefer no carpets in a hotel, but that's just us.

Their hospitality was great, very friendly. Lovely continental breakfast!

An amazing view outside of the lake with inquisitive geese that wanted to share our breakfast in the morning.

We would like to come back in warmer weather, mostly because of how friendly the owners were.

The rooms had a spa that looked clean, but this time we didn't use the spa.. too tired when we got back after dinner in the city!

Most important plus for us is that they let us charge our car from the domestic power supply overnight for a reasonable price: $20. Thank you very much for that!

I booked one night and liked it so much I stayed a second night. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms with fantastic views over the lake. Rooms have a back door to access the pool, bbq, lake and open area. It's peaceful and quiet, only a few minutes from Shepparton. I'll be back!
Three years later, I'm finally back. It's still good value, friendly staff. I'm in a different, larger, comfy room. All rooms are overlooking the lake.
