Security screening person, carring on about a battery in my carry on not having terminals taped up. Also the "Dont touch it, I will open your bag" When He asked me where it was.

I went thru Newman airport excatly the same situtation, old mate took it out and taped up terminals without a comment.

It's basic & small but adequate enough for the short time you should be there. It has a bar and small cafe thank God which again is adequate. Lots of car rental options as well.
Most people seemed pretty happy to be departing but the folk arriving were quite the opposite LOL.
But all in all a pretty good little airport stuck in the middle of nowhere!

Get another set of stairs.
They can’t be much more than $800.
Making a plane full of ppl wait half an hour cos another plane is using your only set, is not acceptable.

Businesses and services should not be operating on such a lack of resources and the assumption that consumers will tolerate their time being wasted, regardless of the fact there is no other option. It’s just decency and fair game.

Bottled water is not readily available for jet setters. Not alot of room inside in the air conditioning so if you forget your drink bottles like we did all that is available is a water fountain if you don't mind sharing in the 40 degree plus heat.

Pretty standard mining airport. Decent size sitting area. Food and drink available. Toilets available. Can be stormy in Jan - Feb Pilbara wet season.

After having a Qantas Flight cancelled I came back to the airport the next day (30.01.23) The staff member who scanned me for items I presumed to be explosives was totally rude accusing me of being ‘stressed out’ . I informed him I just want to get hope. He is a disgrace to the airport and has no customer service skills. Good riddance

For a potential gateway to Karijini National Park airport for tourism. Unfortunately not. No reliable fresh water unless you want to share same drinking fountain as the the birds, no escape from the weather unless you get pass security hours before your flight. The staff are excellent and hats off to them. They must deal with so many unhappy people but still do a great job. Just the facilities let us all down. Upgrading needs to happen real soon.
