My Dad and I had an awesome time on the water with OzPaddle, Sophie absolutely made the experience.

Her passion and knowledge for kayaking and nature really shone through. It started with a mini masterclass in proper technique and how to paddle effectively using the lightweight carbon fibre paddles. We can definitely use the skills learnt for future adventures. She was so welcoming, full of energy, and kept us laughing the whole way.

We did the 8am tour, and it was perfect - a calm harbour and beautiful morning sun. Sophie recommended this time, and she was spot on!

The photos she took were fantastic. She also shared some great facts about Sydney Harbour, pointed out all the historic sites, and told brilliant stories. Both about the harbour and her own kayaking journey.

It was a special and unique experience, I couldn’t recommend it enough!

We had a gorgeous sunrise on the harbour with Sophie. With her coaching, great equipment and blessings of the wind we slid on past the imposing naval vessels, the beautiful gardens, watched a huge cruise ship go by and got up close with the Opera House. (Hope to meet the resident seal next time 🙂 All the while being herded into prime photos and regaled with Sophie’s enthusiasm and interesting history pieces. A whole new perspective for starting the day!

Our kayaking tour with OzPaddle was the absolute highlight of our time in Sydney—even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we had an incredible time.

There are some moments to be remembered when traveling and our tour with Ozpaddle was definitely one of those for us.

First Ozpaddle travel path is unique as we started from the east and were lucky enough to witness all the green parks, city skyline and the naval boats before reaching the magnificent Opera House. This side also seems to be much quieter with less boats and made things easier for us beginners to paddle!

But, Beyond the Experience itself which was nothing short of amazing, we also met Sophie, Ozpaddle’’s owner who pioneered kayaking tours 16 year when it was not a buzz yet and who seems to do it with the same contagious passion, authenticity and aim.

The high end, light and expensive gear she is using, her willingness to share her passion of kayaking and convert us to it, and all other little personal attention (that why she only accepts small groups) made us think that Ozpaddle is not a business for Sophie, more a calling or a mission she is on. Inspiring !

if like us, you fancy a unique kayaking experience, that an experience is all about people first and think that small (local) business is beautiful and should be supported (she is alone running it!), then Ozpaddle is a no-brainer.

For us it was a fantastic start of our stay in Sydney and a moment we will remember for a long time.

This was the second time I've been kayaking with Ozpaddle (first time back in 2019) and couldn't go to anyone else given how perfect Sophie's session is! One of the highlights of our entire 3 week trip to Australia!

We went for the 8:30am morning kayak which offered incredibly calm waters, almost feeling like we were the only ones out on the water. With only 4 of us in the session, it was a very personal experience. Sophie taught us all the motions on how to kayak, and away we went! The views coming into the main harbour were so surreal, seeing the Opera House and Harbour Bridge offered the most picturesque views which were some of the best visuals of our trip.
Sophie goes above and beyond, taking so many photos/videos on her phone to make sure you have that perfect memory! She also gives interesting insights into the city of Sydney as you paddle along.

We spent hours out in the harbour and never felt rushed, sometimes just sitting there soaking it all in. It's obvious Sophie has a huge passion for kayaking and wants to share that with everyone.

If you're thinking of kayaking in Sydney, I highly recommend Ozpaddle and Sophie as you'll have an incredible time that you'll cherish forever!

Highlight of my trip to Sydney. The day I had originally booked called for heavy rain, so I thought I would have to cancel. However, Sophie was super proactive and reached out to reschedule us to the day earlier. Sophie took time and care to teach us proper form when kayaking before starting our session. During the sunrise Sophie gave tons of information on the opera house and Sydney in general. She also took amazing photos of my group. I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone visiting Sydney for the first time.

Paddling around Sydney Opera House with the best views of the bridge was simply breathtaking – a moment I’ll never forget. We didn't need to go at sunrise, the morning tour was spectacular with Sydney opera house in all its glory in full sunlight."
