Absolutely filthy. Floors hadn't been cleaned in months, cutlery tray was dirty and so was some of the cutlery. No water pressure so shower was awful. Ac didn't work, heater smelt when turned on, daddy long legs in bed
Definitely to be avoided at all costs. Sleep in your car

Motel is very dated. Level of cleanliness very poor. We were there three days. The beds were not made, the room was not tidied. The shower door was broken, the bathroom was very dingy, mould on windows and in shower, lots of ants in bathroom. Not worth $125 per night

I was travelling with a relative all over Victoria, stayed in various motels in towns en route to Adelaide, Echuca, Gippsland etc. All motels were good value until we got to Opal Motel, Leongatha

Stayed 3 nights at this motel. Room was very grubby throughout, when we arrived, one of the cups was unwashed, ants were all over bathroom, every surface was dusty and grubby, bathroom window mouldy. All the other motels we stayed at provided dishwashing items, i.e. cloth, detergent

Room was not serviced after each night, they only put coffee and tea sachets out, beds not made, floor not vacuumed, bins not emptied

The only good review I can give is for the location

Very disappointed, was more like1 star with 3 star prices. If we hadn’t already arranged to meet friends in the locality we would have left and gone elsewhere, we did try to book elsewhere but no vacancies

Maybe they need to get better cleaners in or pay them better rates, or maybe a visit from health and safety would advise them on better hygiene

Staying at the Opal Motel is an experience I will not forget in a hurry, though I wish I could. The room was so dirty and dusty, I half expected to find a forgotten civilisation under the bed. The smell was next level - Like the room hadn't seen fresh air since the 90's. And the best part? I opened the bedside drawer and discovered it was full of Mens socks and jocks. Not sure if this was a welcome gift or an accidental memento from the last guest, but either way, it was a surprise I didn't need. I wouldn't recommend this place unless your into mystery smells and unexpected laundry.

Only passing through and room was adequate for this. Alot more space inside room and bathroom than normal with plenty of bench space. Location is close to everything you would need, and parking outside room. Beds are clean and comfy with working electric blankets and heater. Small things good go along way though, appliance look like they have done their time and microwave not so clean. Bowls and mugs are kids size. Rooms look like they only get a quick clean. Rate 3.5 out of 5, updating appliances, dinnerware and a more thorough clean would easily place it in the 4+ range.

This place is absolutely filthy. I don't think it's been cleaned properly any year. The carpet is absolutely filthy. The door runners are just filthy. The air conditioner was in the toilet and you have to leave the door open but the toilet only had a half door. So if you're in the bathroom using the hand basin and someone was in the toilet it was like they were in an open room. It should really be closed down. We were stuck as we had no accommodation and we had to stay there. If I could have got a accommodation elsewhere I would have just walked out. It shouldn't be allowed to have a license
