The service and the room were really great.
The location is really good, close to the highway, in the South Wharf, only 5-10 min by foot from the next Free Tram Zone station.

However, the breakfast needs some serious improvement. For a 5-stars hotel there are many things missing. Fruits, for example. In a country such as Australia, with so much variety, I do think they should also have at least kiwis, strawberries, etc.
The breakfast staff doesn’t seem motivated, leaving several serving platters to go empty and not refilling them unless asked.
The breakfast experience felt really underwhelming.

From the moment I arrived at Oakwood Premier Melbourne, I knew I was in for something special. Perfectly located in vibrant Southbank, this 5-star gem redefines city stays by seamlessly blending the luxury of a high-end hotel with the comfort and functionality of a fully equipped apartment.||||I stayed in a beautiful studio apartment on the 37th floor of the 40-storey tower, and the views alone were worth the trip !Panoramic 360° scenes stretching from the sparkling city skyline to Port Phillip Bay, with the Yarra River winding gently below. Waking up to that kind of peaceful, elevated beauty each morning was an experience in itself.||||One of the true highlights of my stay was dinner at Strato, the spectacular rooftop restaurant and bar perched at the very top of the tower. The evening was absolutely magical. From the refined atmosphere and impeccable service to the culinary creativity on every plate. But what truly takes it to the next level is the view: this is hands down one of the most breathtaking dining experiences you can have in Melbourne. Watching the city light up at sunset, 40 floors above it all, made for an unforgettable night that perfectly captured the essence of the Oakwood experience elevated, elegant, and unique.||||The apartment itself was a perfect mix of elegance and practicality: spacious, spotless, and filled with smart touches. From in-room tech and a luxurious rainfall shower to a plush bed, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and a sleek, modern kitchenette. Whether you're staying for a few nights or a few weeks, it truly has everything a modern traveler could ask for. Effortless comfort with a stylish twist.||||Breakfast at Fifth Restaurant was another highlight. The light-filled space, contemporary design, and seasonal Australian-Pacific menu created the perfect start to each day. From flaky pastries and vibrant fruit platters to a made-to-order omelette station and great coffee (with alternative milks and GF options), it felt curated and intentional, not just another hotel breakfast.||I also enjoyed relaxing at the Lobby Bar in the evenings . A chic spot with a laid-back vibe, great cocktails and tasty dishes. It’s one of those places where you can truly unwind and soak in the atmosphere.||||Beyond the rooms and dining, Oakwood offers a wide array of thoughtful amenities. A well-equipped gym with breathtaking views, Games Room, Residents’ Lounge, and multiple outdoor terraces with jaw-dropping views. The co-working space was a nice surprise too ! Ideal for anyone mixing business with pleasure. Plus, their meeting rooms and ballroom make it a solid option for events or corporate stays.||||What really elevated the whole experience, though, was the staff. From check-in to check-out, everyone I encountered was professional, warm, and genuinely invested in making my stay enjoyable. It’s rare to feel so well taken care of in such a modern, large-scale property. But they absolutely nailed it.||||The location couldn’t be better ! Tucked away just enough for peace and quiet, but still within walking distance of the CBD, South Melbourne Market, DFO South Wharf, and the scenic Yarra River promenade. And with stunning ocean views. Whether you're here for work, leisure, or a little bit of both (like I was), Oakwood is a perfectly placed home base to explore the best of Melbourne.||||In short ? This is more than just a Hotel ! it's a lifestyle experience. Sophisticated, comfortable, convenient, and impeccably run. Between the stunning apartment, world-class amenities, and the magic of dining at Strato, this was a stay I won’t soon forget. ||||I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit to Melbourne, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for that rare balance of luxury and livability.

The building and rooms were lovely and clean. Couldn’t fault the staff, room or the hotel. However we were on the 38th floor in a two bedroom apartment. The night club above kicked off with beating music that could be heard clearly in our room. Sleeping was interesting when the room began to shake when I’m gathering a popular dance floor song started. It would stop and then just as I was about to fall asleep to the music playing, the bed would shake again. Fresh from the Thailand earthquake I honestly thought it was happening here. This would continue for a few hours till I guess I got use to it or was so tired I feel asleep.
It would have been nice to be advised that we may experience these things on check in and have the option to move somewhere else. The four adults in this room had to be up early for the event we were in Melbourne for.
We did let the staff know on check out, however after looking in here the same issue has been noted and yet nothing is still being done a year later. So let’s see if we do have someone get in touch with us.

Honestly!!! Didn't have much expectation but it completely exceeded my expectation. Check in was swift. Facilities - gym and game room was amazing! We also stayed in a studio where there was a laundry machine n small kitchenette. Beds were comfy. Everything was clean! Totally a 5* worth it's stars!!

Stayed here for 5 nights in the twin deluxe apartment, the service was lovely and the rooms had great amenities! The room service was great value and very tasty, and the on site convenience store was a life saver! We will definitely be staying here again <3

Stayed here for 5 nights as we were in town to watch the Australian Open. We got an upgrade to an Executive Room on the 36th floor which had a fabulous view. The location was also pretty decent, with the tram stop just around the corner.||The staff here were excellent - from housekeeping to the front desk. I had a meeting at 3 AM and the desk manager was kind enough to open the business lounge for me. I know some have complained about the lift system but I quite liked it.||I do feel like something is missing, that doesn't quite put it in the 5-star category. There were no bellmen to help me with my luggage for one thing. ||But all-in-all, it was good value for money, especially during the busiest time in Melbourne.

Plus, the prime location near the Yarra River and Docklands made exploring Melbourne effortless. A truly luxurious and memorable stay—can’t wait to return!

Stayed for 4 nights. Room was great with an amazing view. Comfy bed, kitchenette with a full sized fridge, very nice bathroom. Great buffet breakfast with some made to order omelettes. Location is a bit tricky (15min walk to the edge of the CBD, 5mins to the nearest tram stop outside of the free tram zone) but well worth it for the price we got.
