We booked a family room for a night directly with Norwood House - not through a third-party booking site. We spoke with Laurier the on-site manager who was extremely helpful. Laurier was equally helpful in person when we arrived.
The room was basic, but comfortable, well maintained and spotlessly clean. The next morning the cleaning staff were superb and very helpful. A great place to stay.

Worst experience in a hotel room. We went for wedding anniversary.Room dirty, we ordered deluxe room, and got down graded! Mankiest rooms ewwww!
Promised refund and when we handed in keys was told no refund.
Reported to consumer affairs it was that bad the whole experience.

Had an overnight stay, although we chose a basic room, I couldn’t help but notice the thick dust along the top of the curtain rod and drapes, and they’re very dated. The room could do with a lick of paint and curtains/ drapes replaced, also the front door handle was very loose, have to say though the bed was very clean and comfy.

Cosy, quiet, welcoming, tidy, the manager and cleaners are all so nice!
Great service! offered extra toiletries if needed and a bottle wine for the night.
We woke up late and checked out 15 minutes late but they were so nice about it. Will stay again!

Great location, easy to find, easy check-in, plenty of parking.
The manager was lovely and friendly, very helpful - offered to arrange taxi etc.
The room was dated but clean. I have heard they are updating the rooms.
Bathroom was poky and no full-length mirror in room, only the one above the vanity.

I'm sure many potential holiday makers have driven past Norwood House Receptions and either not noticed it, or considered it a reception venue only. That is their loss. Behind the reception area is a motel block respendant with collonade along the front making an impressive first impression. Don't get me wrong, some maintenance work needs to be done but the bones of the facility are all good, and the new owners know what needs to be done. Inside however the room was excellent, with a king bed and a king single, the most comfortable since my favoured Sheraton Hotel beds. The room was spotless and the price affordable. Special mention must go to the manager, Laurie, who went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. Important after day surgery at a nearby private hospital. Opt for one of his home cooked breakfasts for a special treat. We randomly chose to stay here due to its convenient location, close to all that Mornington offers. Our random choice turned out to be first prize in the lucky dip. We look forward to returning in coming months and to see the new owners plans develop into fruition.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable, quiet, clean and a great price for the area. The new owner who took over recently is super friendly and had got plans to renovate parts of the property. We had a king room which has an unusually narrow bathroom but it was very functional.
We felt well looked after and we would definitely stay here again.
