The Northern ART Hotel is a real gem. |Rooms and beds were comfy. There is barely a wall space without an interesting hanging or sculpture. The host was very friendly and accommodating. Having a simple breakfast included was much appreciated. There were two different musical performances/practices during my stay. Quite marvellous. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed my stay at Northern Arts Hotel. It's 5mins walk to the Mill and the Vintage Bazaar as well as the Boomtown Winery and the Botanical Gardens. It's 10-15mins flat walk to the main part or Castlemaine with shops and cafes. I caught the train from Melbourne and walked from the Castlemaine train station to the Hotel and it was easy. The breakfast is basic, toast or muesli but it was all I needed. You could access tea/coffee at any time which was nice. I'd stay there again and would recommendations to others.

One of the best, most beautiful accomodations in Castlemaine, so friendly and often there is lovely music and poetry events in the Cool room. Breakfast and amenities were top class. Highly recommend staying here.

My 5 year old and I stayed here for a couple days over the holidays, and it was lovely! The vibe is great, with beautiful artwork and antique furniture throughout. The room was super clean and comfy, and we had everything we needed (tea, coffee, milk in the guest fridge right down the hall). We opted for a room with a private bathroom which was perfect for us. It was HOT while we were there, and the air con unit in the room was super powerful which was so refreshing after being outdoors all day. There are cute coffee shops within walking distance too. The breakfast was great - local artisan bread with jam and butter, cereal & muesli, and fresh yogurt and fruit. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay, we'll definitely be back next time we're in Castlemaine!

Stayed here for a show the rooms are large but upstairs very old and quaint the only downside is no restaurant but they do have a bar to see a show it’s a little tight for room especially if you are seeing someone popular like Beccy Cole it was sold out

1. In description it says: your booked unit comes with: this, that, Toilet, Shower etc. When I arrived I've been told my room doesn't have Toilet or shower...it's external Shared toilet and shower...it's not fair....
2. It says: pets are not allowed...so why owner's dog is walking everywhere? I have an allergy!!!
3. There's no sound proof! Walls so thin you can hear clearly everything what's in next room.
4. There's no lights near the room door....so when you go to the shared toilet at night, then it's hard to put key in a lock.
5. A bed has wheels! Great! It's moving all the time!
6. Then there's minor things like: a tea has smell and taste as fish oil, etc, but I don't want to bother.

Very clean and quiet. Easy contact less check in. Basic accommodation is suitable for overnight stay. 5 mins from the centre of town.
