Had a great ride with Mulga Bicycle Tours from St George to Emerald via the Carnarvon Gorge - despite the need for and the challenges of strict Covid Protocol Management during the ride. Mark and Denise made sure Covid stayed out of the group - and I enjoyed the daily rides, the evening banter and walking in Carnarvon Gorge.

Very professional bike tour group. A big emphasis on safety, which doesn’t hurt. We were well informed prior to departure. Booking and payment went smoothly. Denise and Mark were great. Bike tour was fun. Good value. I would tour with them again.

Organising a tour over the Covid period was not easy and after many delays due to lockdowns we finally decided to do a tour around the areas of Albury, Wagga Wagga, Junee etc. Mark and Denise were quick to adapt to the changes and found some beautiful areas for us to cycle around. I have a whole new love for the beautiful rural areas on NSW and the lovely country cities and townships. Mark and Denise offered the highest standard of security and we always felt safe when riding along the country road knowing that they were at the front and back of us to keep an eye on any traffic that might come along. This was essential as there was 11 of us altogether and most of us had not done this level of riding. Mark was great when ever we got flat tyres which in my case was regularly. An extremely well organised operation and I would definitely use again.

My second trip with Mulga Bicycle Tours and I was very happy with the organisation and safety in particular. Mark and Denise looked after us so well and despite some bad weather we had a great trip. The hire Ebikes are nearly new. We had 2 way radios for extra traffic awareness , and a vehicle at each end of the cyclists . This Outback experience definitely lived up to expectations.

A few memories of my recent ‘Cross the Cape - Cairns to Karumba’ trip with Mulga Bicycle Tours.

Thanks to Mark and Denise our tour hosts for such a well-planned and organised tour.

The route taken, accommodation, food, sight-seeing breaks were first class considering the remoteness of some areas. An added bonus was the pubs along the way.

Mark and Denise, your coolness and calmness in sometimes stressful situations behind the scenes was exemplary. Mark with multiple mechanical requirements and daily 3D jigsaw plus Denise with her daily duties and the multitasking in the back up wagon. To watch Denise control multiple radios, have her eye out and reporting on following vehicles, keeping an eagle eye for stragglers whilst recording times and distances was a sight to behold.

I hired a bike from Mulga rather than having the hassle of packing my own plus mechanical parts etc. for the flight to Cairns and return. The supplied bike, a hybrid with extra durable tyres , was ideal for the trip with the added bonus of required lighting and small bag. The maintenance requirements of the bike were included also.

To my cycling companions for the journey:

• M, whilst I only saw you on the road at the start, during breaks and the finish it was good to catch up at other times on life’s finer points and cycling
• Da , you have shown that it is possible to mix business with pleasure though I did not see a lot of pleasure in those climbs on the first two days.
• DJ, I hope to be half as fit at your age, an inspiration, though I will forego the running leg if I ever attempt your multidisciplinary hobby.
• M, Your tip on using shampoo for washing was invaluable. I admire anyone cycling in those subzero temps of the Capital to work.
• R, your knowledge of flora and fauna (along with Mark) was most enlightening. The identity of sightings over the years have now been confirmed, I can rest easy.
• De, I had midweek bowls on the horizon and you have nearly convinced me that this is the way to go. It was good to have a quiet beer around the pool, pub after the ride or anywhere in fact, this also applies to W and L in fact everyone!.
• W, my tail end charley companion with L (much appreciated). It is amazing the conversations you have riding along at a not so quick clip. There were a lot of similarities growing up and how else would I have known that you were married two blocks from where I live.
• L, my other tail end charley companion. A recital from L takes you back in time, the poets were brilliant with a turn of phrase, your mind wanders to how it must have been, then back to reality as the next hill approaches. Talking about life’s experiences was enlightening as well as eye-opening.
• J, another companion at the rear. Your constant encouragement was comforting.

Something gleaned from the tour, exercise is helping futureproof the body both mentally and physically.

This tour of Murray to Mountains Rail Trail was sooo well run! I felt completely supported the entire journey in bike safety and performance, accommodation, sightseeing and meals.
Travelling slower than others who were more fit or on e-bikes meant I always cycled alone, not with others. I would bring or hire an Ebike next time .

Absolutely outstanding! Mark & Denise guided us on a tour of the Eyre Peninsula. Their knowledge of the area, attention to safety, quality of equipment and selection of accommodations were all exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the unhurried and flexible atmosphere that Mark and Denise brought to the group. A highlight for me was driving back, with Mark, to Murphy's Haystacks (after a long day of cycling) to take a nightscape photograph. I was so grateful to Mark to add that treat into his long day. What a great trip. I can highly recommend Mulga tours to anyone considering a seeing parts of Australia from the back of a bike!

We had a wonderful time with Mark and Denise on the Canberra Highlights Tour. The five hour tour was a fabulous experience and Mark's knowledge of our Capital city was so informative. The bikes were very comfortable and it was a highlight of our time in Canberra. Thank you both for a great day!
