Don’t bother if you want fancy. The bar is what I wanted as was the room - a wild, wacky experience for a middle of the road aged UK tourist that I’ll remember for ever. So bad, it’s actually good. If that’s what you’re after, then highly recommended.

An old Aussie pub 'as is' & looks like the towns workers pub. Across the road (same owner) is the more upmarket pub (hotel/motel/restaurant).

This pub is bottles/cans only - no draught beer, which was a bit odd (across the road has draught).

Seating inside & outside in beer garden.

Staff were ok - 'skimpy' barmaid started late afternoon- unsure if every day or just Monday.

Prices were ok & a good variety of drinks available incl zero alcohol.

The rooms were clean and smelly nice and a heater for the cold. But that's about it. Quoted $135 then charged an extra $1 for using the EFTPOS for an older style room with broken springs digging into our back all night. Then being woken up multiple times by drunk guests leaving the pub and running up and down the veranda half the night and yelling. No other accommodation was available so we had no choice.

Stayed before but in a different room.
This time I found the room very dated with some weird colour combination. They are all a little tired and could do with a spruce up.
This and the commercial are owned by the same people.
Go across the road for dinner at the commercial.
This hotel is for drinking and skimpies.

It’s an outback pub that needs some work. Barman very friendly and also the cook, we decided just to have a serve of chips with a few drinks and must admit they were the best chips we’d had for awhile ? there is a small supermarket out the back which to barman also takes care of.. multitasker .. we went out to the beer garden and was offered some insect spray for the mosquitoes
Would recommend supporting the local pubs on stopovers .

No musc allowed...after 8 hours on the road I stopped I n to The Grand for the night hoping to have some fun but tried to put music on the jukebox to find it disabled ... asked to put some music on but was told no music because people don't want to hear music . Disappointed

Room was not clean. Found a questionable hair on the bed. Frog swimming in the toilet bowl and shower and basin not clean properly. Bar staff was friendly, that's the only positive.
Did not feel safe or clean in the room. Heard gun shot like sounds at 9pm. No one to call in terms of reception. No receipt when you check in. Will never stay here again. Very poor experience for paying $140 ?
