We visited late in the afternoon and could not see much for the haze and sunlight. The view would be spectacular but certainly better in the morning. Parking is $5.40. Toilets were clean. Cafe was closed during our visit.

If you are not driving to the summit, better ring the information center before you Google public transport because the route was totally a mistake! I got off at the suggested stop only to find out there was no trail up to the summit for pedestrians. Had to walk 3 kms alongside cars which was a risky and horrifying experience I’d never want to experience again.

The views are splendid though. Perfect spot that overlooks the city and the horizon.

Plenty of parking, which you do need to pay for. Lookout is fantastic, view over Adelaide is lovely. Lovely gift shop and cafe/bar. Make sure to look up at the gym trees around the carpark, koalas can be found.

Worth the drive up to this picturesque view of Adelaide. We could see as far a Kangaroo island to the south. Great coffee and cake as well

Mt Lofty Summit offers breathtaking views stretching across Adelaide, the coastline, and the rolling hills—it’s the kind of place that makes you stop and soak it all in. Whether you’re after a coffee, a bite to eat, or just want to admire the view, it’s a perfect spot to unwind. There’s a cozy café on-site and a lovely gift store showcasing locally made treasures. For those keen to stretch their legs, there are several walking trails nearby, catering to a range of fitness levels. Best of all, the summit is wheelchair accessible, making it a welcoming destination for everyone.

The Mount Lofty Summit is close to the charming hill's suburb Stirling and Mount Lofty Botanic Garden. You can visit all these few places, including the summit, as stop overs if you are heading from Adelaide to Hahndorf.

It's free of charge to visit the summit. However, you must pay for the car park space at $5.2 flat rate for max. 12 hours parking.

There are cafe, souvenirs shop and toilets available. I visited it on the Australia Day which fell on a Sunday. The cafe was either closed on that day or closed earlier as I arrived at 3:40 pm but it was not opened for business. The souvenirs shop was quite big and it was opened so I browsed around and found it was nice.

The viewing point of the summit situates at about 700 metres above sea level. The view was spectacular, but it was a bit far from the little CBD. I had a feeling that the view was pretty similar to viewing Brisbane CBD from the Mount Coot-tha Summit in Queensland 😅.

I thought this place should be good to watch sunset too. However, I rushed back to the Adelaide CBD for some other Australia Day events in the evening. I will definitely re-visit again in the future for the best sunset view of Adelaide City.
