Amazing experience and a beautiful part of the world to unwind and relax. Grant and Tony were so welcoming, and the service they provide is 5 stars, from the private spa, immaculate clean room, and the beautiful modern decor. It is such a romantic place to stay.
Even the dog loved it here. Can't wait to come back again soon!

We had a great stay at Motel 3858 — it's a lovely spot just outside of Heyfield. We booked a room with a spa and plunge pool, which was a fantastic touch for a relaxing getaway.

Although we didn’t meet the owners during our stay, the person who greeted us was very friendly and welcoming. They kindly showed us to our room and made us feel comfortable right away.

One point of confusion was that the room we received wasn’t exactly as pictured in the booking — the photos showed a grassy patch outside, which our room didn’t have. Since we never met the owners, we didn’t get a chance to bring it up, which was a little disappointing as we were really looking forward to the room we originally booked.

That said, there is a spacious communal grassy area outside the rooms that's perfect for dogs, which was a nice bonus. The room itself was very private, peaceful, and quiet — with a large, comfy bed, super clean facilities, and a cosy vibe throughout.

There was a generous basket of snacks and drinks, but it wasn’t clear whether these were complimentary or came at an extra cost — a little note would’ve been helpful.

It’s only a short drive into Heyfield, where you’ll find some nice cafes and local spots.

Overall, a peaceful and comfortable stay — but a little more clarity and communication would make the experience even better.

We wanted to take time off and relax and yes we did. This place is a gem. We found about here through riparide and straight away booked it.
The owner, grant is the most kind and friendly person we have met. The rooms were lovely and the gardens with the hot bath tubs were the cherries on top. The gardens and outdoor pool is well maintained and clean and the atmosphere is sooo divine. Its really very peaceful and quiet.
The rooms were spacious and the washrooms were artistic, really nice design. Most of all your fur babies are welcome here.
Will surely revisit and recommend the stay here at motel 3858.

Stayed at Motel 3858 for two nights. Worth every penny. Staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and well stocked with necessities.

The spa and pool with the room we booked was great, also very clean with a well designed small garden and gold fish pond, which I though was a great addition.

We left relaxed and rejuvenated.

This motel is one of the best we have had the privilege to stay in and we have stayed in many around the world. As we entered our room , we were blown away by the beautiful decor. This was an experience that instantly calmed the senses - on all fronts
The luxurious furnishing and attention to detail was incredible
Our private courtyard was a haven of cottage plants, roses and violets. It had a pond that housed mature and baby fish as well as a small fountain.
We didn’t want to leave the room .
The surrounding grounds had a pool, BBQ area , veggie gardens , chooks and more fish .
No wonders this place is the jewel of Gippsland if not Victoria - Grant and Tony were so welcoming . We could feel their passion in what they had accomplished with the result of making those who stay feel comfortable and relaxed ( and spoilt) .

What a great find in the country - probably the best country hotel I've ever stayed at. Lovely interior decor, with thoughful details from the hosts. LOVED the outdoor claw foot baths in our room. Extremely comfortable beds. Owners were accomodating of our late arrival time and very lovely. Looking forward to a repeat visit. Very happy to learn it is dog friendly too!

This motel is quite a suprise. Wonderfully rustic inside, with all the trappings of a luxury studio apartment. Shampoo, conditioner and bath gel provided. Loved the soft pillows. The owners Tony and Grant are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely stay again

We had an incredible weekend getaway thanks to the amazing staff, who were so friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless and beautifully designed, offering the perfect escape from reality. We loved the garden and water feature—it created such a peaceful atmosphere. The spa was the cherry on top of an already perfect stay. Plus, the property was dog-friendly, and there was plenty of space for our pup to run around on the side of the property. If you don’t book with a spa or pool, they also have a lovely communal pool. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend to everyone!
