We drove from Hawker on the Flinders Rangers Way and turned off onto the Moralana Scenic drive travelling East to West. We were in a 4wd and it was a very comfortable drive, saw plenty of Emu's, Wallabies and birds.

In the morning we were advised to drive along the road from east to west, due to the sun's position.
The road is a formed earth road with some rough patches, but my 2WD vehicle made it easily .

The dirt road was a bit rough in places. A few holes to watch out for. However well worth the ride. Gorgeous views and you may see some wildlife. Make sure you travel west in the morning and east in the afternoon.

What a drive. Started the drive half an hour before the sunset from Wilpena Pound side and ended just after dark on the other side. The road is rough but certainly doable. Amazing scenery and the colors of the setting sun on the rock formations will blow your mind. Heaps of wildlife so drive carefully!

Dirt road in fairly good condition, crosses a couple of creek beds. We were lucky, they were all dry.
Nice views of rolling hills with Rownsley Bluff in the background.
