We attempted to get into the park to a campsite. Tried driving along two different roads in. We thought they should have been signposted as 4wd, definitely not suitable for our van. No signposts to the camping spot. We were tired so perhaps we missed something!! A frustrating end to our day!! Ended up at the excellent campground nearby( Echo bend).

Always a stunning place and never too crowded. However the path from billy goat bend to angusvale was flooded at one point and we had to find an alternative route. Other than that it is a beautiful place to get off the grid and there are plenty of good camping spots and facilities accessible by car if you don't like walking.

This is NOT a national park for families there is practically a cliff walk where the path is on flat rocks and path is only 800 wide then a cliff drop no hand rails nothing the incline is very steep up and back .
I would not recommend this national park to families or inexperienced bush walkers or over 50 or not fit . The maps are vague .there used to be a car park you could drive to park walk 10.mins a fairly flat pathway to the Mitchell river then walk along a path by the river then walk up large rocks to the den of nargen took me 3 weeks and many phone calls to find out parks victoria changed all this 6 years ago .
Well they have ruined this national park by not making it accessible to all .... typical of people in offices in Melbourne ruining our parks .
Totally not happy

The trails were neatly kept and the broken branches (after the stormy winds) were removed. The Mitchell River National Park was fairly busy, as it is a very popular picnic spot, especially on a weekend. Swimming in the river should only be done with adult supervision and is recommended only for good swimmers. Never dive in as the river has an uneven bottom scattered with large boulders and the water visibility is zero after heavy rain.

Always be safe when visiting the area as nature was there first. Be aware of snakes, mosquitoes and never break or disrupt the fauna & flora.

Note that the river water is NOT for consumption. Bring your own fresh water along the trails.

This place is amazing. A little off the beaten track but well worth the journey. Heaps of room to camp; locations suitable for changing weather conditions; and heaps of open spaces for the kids to have fun.

My second home, I've been travelling here through the years and the river is always a nice place for a dip, even in the artic winter time. A great way to wake every cell in your body and soul. I'll always find happiness here.

Beautiful! A bit of rubbish from lazy drinkers. Toilet and bbq. The walk took 1.5 hours. Definately going back with shorts and a drink!

It's all off road here.
It's not easy to drive to camp place.
But once you arrive, the view is absolutely spectacular here.
There is toilet here but without water.
Can camp here.
