Slightly worn rooms in a heritage building with period features and expansive grounds that are a tourist attraction for gardeners in their own right. The indoor pool was large and inviting, though the pavilion had seen better days. The spa was being renovated while we were there, so we can't comment on that. It would be impossible to eat everything in the included well-appointed breakfast buffet but it is traditional to try.

We had a special lunch in the restaurant at Milton Park. Beautiful setting. The gardens are spectacular and the Hotel has a great atmosphere. The bar and drawing rooms are full of old world charm.
Worth a visit even though the food was a bit ordinary and expensive.

Stayed here for a long weekend over Easter with extended family across rooms & had a special birthday dinner for our mum/nana. It was magical. Perfect for us for the weekend away. Pool was beautiful & great for the kids, dinner & wine list lovely, staff extremely helpful. Absolutely stunning grounds. The bar was also excellent. I don’t often write reviews but would recommend - especially for families.

The grounds at Milton Park are so beautiful. The indoor pool is fantastic. There are two lovely dining rooms with amazing views of the gardens and the food is delicious. There are warm enchanting lounge rooms with open fires and the staff are wonderful.
Our room was very comfortable.

Disappointed Stay - Needs Urgent Attention to Service & Facilities||We were really looking forward to our stay at Milton Park, but unfortunately, it fell well short of expectations.||The room was very tired and poorly maintained. Paint was peeling off the walls right at the entrance to the rooms, setting a bad first impression. The bath was small, chipped, and barely bigger than a kitchen sink — definitely not what you expect from a premium hotel.||Dinner at Hordern’s was a huge disappointment in terms of service. While the food itself was very good, the experience was let down by extremely slow and moody service. With infant kids, a 2.5-hour dinner is far from ideal. A simple request for an extra high chair was met with attitude — the waitress practically threw it into a corner. Water was barely topped up, and mains were only called 15 minutes after we had finished entrees, leading to a long 30-minute wait.||It took asking three separate waiters and 30 minutes just to confirm whether we could use a drink voucher for a glass of wine — by the time we got an answer, we had already finished our mains. When we asked about desserts at 9:30 pm, we were told to hurry because the kitchen was closing, despite no prior warning.||Breakfast the next morning was no better. Despite being told they’d have a large table ready for us, we had to sit on separate tables as no preparations were made. The buffet was bare when we arrived at 8:30 am, and though it was slowly topped up, what was available (cold hash browns and scrambled eggs) was disappointing.||We ordered poached eggs for our group — after 30 minutes, 6 eggs came out in a single bowl for us to share out ourselves, like in a canteen. The remaining 4 eggs for the other half of our group took another 30 minutes and multiple follow-ups.||What really left a sour taste was a staff member telling my wife she should “take better care of our baby” because some small food scraps (bananas, eggs) had fallen on the floor. This was a normal occurrence with toddlers, yet no other families were approached despite similar messes. It felt discriminatory and entirely unnecessary.||Overall, the hotel seriously lacks in service standards, maintenance, and basic hospitality. This was by far the worst buffet experience we’ve had. We left disappointed and won’t be returning.

Recommended. I'm one of those people who rarely give reviews, but this hotel is charming. I stayed there for a weekend and it was spectacular. The hotel staff, the food, the service, and the location are worth a visit.

It’s a lovely spot, great place and has a grandeur to it. We do expect a bit more for nearly $500 a night though. The room was pretty average, and outside the reception and public areas there’s a lot of wallpaper coming off walls and signs of ageing amenities. No air con in the room we were in and had to ask for a fan (which they provided). Staff were cheerful enough and happy to help when asked but you will have to haul your own luggage in, there’s no door service or concierge. The spa was closed when we were there, we tried the pool, it’s beautiful but being indoors is like 34 degrees in the there so lap swimming is more like a hot jacuzzi 🙂 the grounds are lovely for a walk around and note it’s a few km from town so taxis needed if you are having a glass of wine or two.

We spent one night here recently, expecting to enjoy a luxury stay and fine dining. Our experience was anything but. Our room was scruffy with a carpet that was stained and frayed with peeling paint in the bathroom and fittings and furnishings that were grubby and tired. The general cleanliness in our room was poor and carpets in the public areas were also smelly and stained. Our evening meal was a mixed experience - mine was acceptable but my husband felt there were too many competing elements and flavours in his. There were only two other guests in the large dining room with us so no atmosphere at all - the overall experience was only redeemed by our very helpful waitress. Breakfast was buffet style and acceptable but there seemed to be an excessive amount of food given the number of guests. The fact I was charged extra for a second cup of coffee, seemed wrong under those circumstances. This hotel is apparently about to receive a multi million dollar refurbishment to restore it to its former glory. Meanwhile, sad to say, we could not recommend it.
