A terrific experience to see both sides of the river and be in the working Lock 11 when the Rothbury paddle steamer makes its way through. The informative commentary was excellent . The on board homemade sandwiches and slices etc were great. Prices were very fair. Loved the whole experience.

It was windy, cool and it rained. The sun also came out and warmed the afternoon. Enjoyed the ride, lots of information as we passed points of interest, and wuite relaxing. The steamer itself has an interesting history. Going through the lock was an experience of its own. Good outing for an afternoon and we are doing the day trip tomorrow. It was good!

This was a great activity for a chill afternoon on a warm day. Beautiful breeze and nature views and an added bonus of going into a river lock (an elevator for boats? Lol) Maybe a little high priced but understand fuel is expensive. Little kids will love going in to see the captain and the lock. Still highly recommended. Bring activities for smaller kids as is a 2 hour tour.
