Just spent an amazing two days on Mid West Adventure Tours based in Geraldton - Day 1: Kalbarri National Park plus Pink Lake. Day 2 : The Wildflower Tour. Cam was a a great tour leader with a wealth of knowledge and and was happy answering all our questions and sharing his ‘special areas’ with us. I highly recommend both of these tours - the Wildflowers this year are particularly spectacular in this region of WA.

Absolutely wonderful day visiting Kalbarri and the Pink Lake, with Cam. Cam is so knowledgeable and took us to places we wouldn’t have seen if we had done it independently. Lunch in Kalbarri was also wonderful. Highly recommend Cam and Midwest Adventure Tours!!

We had a wonderful day exploring Kalbarri National Park and Pink Lade. Cam was our guide and he has a wealth of knowledge of wildlife, plants, trees as well as many other things. He added many of his special sights that we really enjoyed. We would definitely book another tour with Midwest Adventure if we are ever in the WA Australia area.

Midwest Adventure tours was the ground transport for all the national artists that performed at Yellowfields. I highly recommend Midwest Adventure Tours, Cameron managed all the transport logistics like a pro, from picking them up from the airport, ensuring the Artists made it to their sound check as well as performance. He went out of his way to show case the region to our Artists, and they all commented on what a great host he was. Thank you Cameron.

We have just finished our amazing wildflower tour with Midwest Adventure Tours - so glad we did - so many flowers to see even at the tail end of the season . So many different species and so many colours. And the wreath flowers were definitely worth seeing
Cam - our guide was so knowledgeable about the wildflowers and also the local area and history - glad we parked the car for the day and got driven to spots that we don’t think we would have found easily and i got to relax without having to drive - definitely the way to do it - excellent morning tea and lunch

Wow! What a day Sunday was.

6 different sites in 1 day and each offering its own unique landscape.

Our tour started at the St James Chapel, where we had some morning tea and took in the beauty of the little stone chapel nestled into the hillside of Kojarena while listening to some of the history of the region and the building itself which was blessed and opened in 1935.

From there we set of towards Pindar, a small town in the Mid-West Region of WA located about 30 km east of Mullewa, in search of the elusive Leschenaultia macrantha (Wreath Flower), a magnificent circular flower boasting a bright red ring of flowers with a solid green centre. Leschenaultia macrantha will only grow under certain conditions and Cam went the extra mile coming out a few days before, finding and hand watering a few of the plants so they would be flowering upon our tour.

The next stop on our tour was the church of Our Lady of Mt Carmel in Mullewa. Aptly named the “Jewel in the Crown” of Monsignor Hawes church designs, this church was built almost entirely by the priest/architect himself.

Next we were off to Perkins No.2 Government Well, One of 3 government wells on the old stock route. Here we stopped in for lunch and admired the vivid colours of the wildflowers nestled in amongst the bright yellows of the various types of wattles the area boasts this time of year and Cam even showed us how to identify the different types.

The return trip home saw us venture into the Coalseam Conservation Park, a small reserve just north of Mingenew. Coalseam Conservation Park is best known for its annual display of wildflowers, but Cam had a wealth of knowledge about the area, such as it being the site of the first mined coal deposit in WA, and also some general knowledge of the marine fossils Coalseam boasts, which unfortunately we didn’t get to see this time around, but there’s always next time.

Our last stop before we made the short venture home was to stop in at Depot Hill, where this time of year you’re surrounded by a sea of pink everlastings and as the terrain changes you can see a mix of flowering shrubs and orchids on mass. The camera friendly area offers easy access to a multitude of wildflower species and, for those of you who enjoy a good walk, you can carry on along the bush track to discover the historic WW2 Army Rifle Range. The site was used as a rifle range during the war and has a great walking track that takes you to the remnants of a trench used for training.

Cam is a knowledgeable and interactive host. Knowing the region and its flora and fauna like the back of his hand, cam is able to provide a lot of interesting facts and teach you a thing or two without you knowing, plus good commentary along the way and a funny story or two keeps you entertained on the drive between sites.

Only wish we had more time at each spot as the region has way more to offer than can fit into a one day tour.

Overall, an exciting and interesting day. Highly recommend jumping on board for a tour while the flowers are still out.

Booked a day tour to visit the new Skywalk along with the pink lake. Cam was a great tour guide, we really enjoyed all the sites and the hotel pick up / drop off was very convenient. Would recommend if you are in the area.
