Kristina is the BEST!!! As an out-of-state couple based in NYC, we knew we needed a wedding planner who was not only highly skilled, but also well-connected and passionate about bringing our vision to life. From the moment we found Kristina, we knew we had found the perfect match—and she did not disappoint! From day one, Kristina made us feel completely at ease. She took the time to really listen to our ideas, understand our unique style, and get a sense of what we wanted for our big day. What we loved most was her ability to guide us through the entire planning process with so much confidence, expertise, and, above all, patience...which we definitely appreciated and needed 🙂

Kristina's attention to detail and dedication to making our wedding unique was incredible. She was able to connect us with amazing vendors who perfectly fit our style and needs. We can’t say enough great things about Kristina and McCurry Events! From the moment we started planning our wedding, Kristina was a breath of fresh air. She helped us navigate the planning process with her fantastic vendor recommendations, connecting us with people who truly understood our vision.

Kristina crafted a detailed wedding timeline that kept everything organized and on track. Her checklists and setup check-in calls made a world of difference, helping us feel prepared as our September date approached. She also was instrumental in coordinating efforts with our venue to ensure our ceremony, cocktail, and reception setup were spot-on with our wedding inspiration ideas. Her guidance throughout the process was sensational.

On the big day, Kristina was incredible. She was there for every step, assuring all vendors were on task; from venue setup to breaking everything down afterward. Throughout the night she made sure all of our needs were fulfilled, allowing us to relax and have a fantastic evening with our guest. Having her assistant on hand made it even easier, allowing us to focus on enjoying our celebration, even when the groom got left by the bus at the end of the night!

What really stood out was Kristina’s calming presence and genuine support. She made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. I want to begin this review by noting a couple of things: (1) I come from a large family and have extensive experience organizing and hosting events for 80-100+ people (our guest count here was 150-160); (2) I had the most MAGICAL night and greatly enjoyed my wedding day; and (3) I understand that there is no such thing as perfection - mistakes are bound to happen and sometimes things get lost in translation. With that being said…

I take full responsibility for any decision-making inconsistencies during the planning process, which may have led to some confusion. I changed my mind a couple times on some things, but keeping track of that is part of the job. My main concerns lie with organization and communication.

We opted for the final months planning package, primarily for day-of coordination, along with vendor recommendations and contract negotiations. My goal was to alleviate most of the workload from my family on the wedding day, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

There were several instances where I felt my instructions to Kristina did not reach the venue. For example, the seating chart was chaotic. My sister had to leave the bridal suite while getting ready to assist, but ended up organizing the entire setup herself. There were discrepancies between the seating chart and the nameplates (a few people listed as +1’s instead of full names) leading to confusion which again I take responsibility for and expected to help correct. I was shocked to hear that Kristina left my sister to handle these issues!!

Additionally, I had provided Kristina with a detailed photo of how I envisioned the outdoor seating arrangement, which was based on Epping‘s very own diagram. 2 hours before our ceremony, my husband had to step out of his suite to rearrange the tables. His grandmother was moving chairs around because she “thought it was weird that the sweetheart table was facing a wall, with the bride and grooms back facing the guests.”

Furthermore, the placement of the estate tables was not as discussed. My parents were seated about 30 feet away from us, which felt extremely disrespectful, especially coming from a Persian family. Despite my CLEAR request for their proximity to our table, Kristina did not communicate this effectively to the Epping staff. Epping graciously offered to relocate the tables, but this only occurred after the ceremony and cocktail hour, when many guests were already seated. I personally didn’t even see the set up until the reception when we were about to do our introductions. I had a borderline mental breakdown from frustration.

While I appreciate that Kristina made some valuable recommendations and connections, I ultimately felt that her presence was unnecessary on the day of the wedding. My mother ended up stepping in and doing SO much alongside the WONDERFUL Katy from Epping to manage everything despite giving clear instructions with photographs to Kristina.

Despite the absolutely lovely and magical night I had, unfortunately I would not recommend Kristina to anyone having a large wedding. She did help with some things and communications for me, but there were just too many things that I trusted her with that ended up being fudged.

Overall, we spent around $3,600 on planning services and feel that we did NOT receive the value we expected whatsoever. I felt like I was working with a beginner. I wish I could’ve given that money to Katy and the rest of the team at Epping Forest.

Kristina and team made sure our day went as smoothly as possible, and it could not have been better. She kept us organized with a monthly planner leading up to the day and made contact with all of our vendors. I truly did not even have to ask or remind her about anything on the wedding day. Kristina is very easy going and calm to work with, especially when planning the most exciting but also can be very stressful when planning a large event. She made us at ease throughout the whole process and provided great advice along the way when we were stuck making decisions.

Kristina was an incredible wedding planner! I am not much of a planner so I was ready to be very overwhelmed during the process, but Kristina was there to take away the stress and make sure my day was perfect! She is so kind, professional, organized, and fun! I did not have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day because I knew she had everything taken care of. She was so helpful during the planning process and patient as I tend not to be the best with decision making. My wedding ceremony and receptions were at 2 different locations and she made sure the transition went seamlessly. She was able to put together the perfect timeline based on what I wanted and at no point during the day did I feel rushed or overwhelmed. My wedding day and planning process would not be as smooth as it was without her! She truly is the perfect person to have there for you on your wedding day and I am so grateful for her!

Kristina McCurry was the best decision we made when it came to wedding planning. We could not have imagined the entire process or our wedding day without her trusted expertise. Kristina truly invests in each of her couples and makes them feel as if they are her only client. The relationship she forms allows you to fully trust and rely on her through every decision big and small when it comes to planning your wedding. Kristina was with us every step on the way while wedding planning. From giving advice on vendors, bridesmaid dress colors, invitation reviews, reception layout and timeline to attending our tasting and helping us pick the meals and wine! There was not a decision made without her experienced opinion. At one point a few weeks before the wedding she knew I was overwhelmed and called just to talk and make sure I was okay. Her genuine care for her couples is so special. There is no question that Kristina knows her stuff and is the best in the industry. Our wedding day was pure magic and my husband and I were able to relax and fully enjoy ourselves due to Kristina's organization and control over the entire day. Kristina's timeline of the wedding day was incredibly detailed and coordinated with all of our vendors. The timeline resulted in a beautiful flow of the night but Kristina also allowed the night to flow naturally so no moment (cake cutting, garter toss, etc.) was forced. Kristina took every idea, thought or dream my husband and I had and transformed them all better than our expectations. Kristina is the greatest investment you can make to assure your wedding day is a dream come true and we know our wedding day would not have been the same without her!

We could not have even dreamt of a better planner than Kristina! She is so patient, kind and understanding...I was amazed at how even keel she always was, no matter how chaotic it became! I was particularly grateful for how sensitive she was to my walk down the aisle - I decided to have both my father and step father walk together with me, now matter how uncomfortable it might make all 3 of us...she helped me feel at ease, like it was no big deal! I could not recommend McCurry Events enough...thank you, Kristina!
