Booked four nights with 6 friends at Mary's Farm Cottages for astronomy and the wildflower season. Excellent dark skies (bortle 1), and with full telstra data reception.

In the middle of nowhere and no contact with the owners except on the evening before we left. Cottages are shared with different parties and pretty noisy, all conversations can be followed loud and clear as the walls are thin.

Mary’s farm cottages were highly recommended by friends as an ideal stopover between Perth and Esperance and they did not disappoint. ||Mary and Michael delivered a dinner of yabbies, salad, home made bread and dukkah to our door, as well as continental breakfast for the next morning.||The landscape is beautiful and the rooms perfectly appointed.||Mary took us on a tour of the farm the next morning. She is warm, inspiring and friendly. We were made to feel so very welcome.||Highly recommended!

I stayed one night and had a wonderful experience of looking into an exceptionally dark sky. Thousands of stars were visible with naked eyes. There was no visible light pollution anywhere, including from the moon. I believe it was Bortle scale 1.

The yabbies dinner was excellent--the freshest yabbies I've had; it was served with homemade bread, dukkah, and salad, including the locally made cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.

The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable.

The owners were very hospitable and friendly. The next morning, they gave us a tour of the yabbies farm and the processing facility, which was also delightful.

A very underwhelming stay at MFC. We chose this location as a midway stop between Albany and Perth, after a beautiful journey from Fremantle and the Margaret River. Photos promoting the property are outdated and far-too-glamorous for what you see. The room was reasonably well equipped despite the fact that it feels like you are left with the previous guests hair shampoo, conditioner and body soap!! Shortly after arrival at approximately 6pm, a woman (presumably housekeeping) bursts into our room, without knocking to collect the washing in the machine from the previous guest. She says, sorry I just need to grab the washing from the machine. Lucky I am wearing clothing, I am paying 200 dollars for the night and privilege. Shortly after a confused guest trying to count cabin numbers for her location opens the door, sees me, apologises genuinely. No harm done. At least you didn’t tell-me-off for closing the door to the dryer cupboard.

The attention to detail was faultless. everything you need for a comfortable one night stay or a week with all mod cons with a full size refrigerator, washing machine, dryer etc. A stocked bar fridge and tv in the bedroom .|Sitting outside for the sunset and the quiet with a glass of wine was very restful.|The owners have invested heavily in a huge solar system incorporating their own battery system with a backup generator plus the grey water is used to reticulate the grassed area. A real investment in an eco environment. Congratulations, well done.|Try the yabbies for dinner. Yumm!|A visit to the Yabby farm is very informative and the owners have demonstrated their imagination and fortitude in developing the yabbies for local and international consumpton. The museum and shearing shed are also very interesting and worth a look.Mary is a marvel and a real dynamo.|Why would you try and drive to Esperance in one hit. A stopover at Mary's is a no brainer and makes the trip far more enjoyable.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here on two occasions to Mary's Farm Cottages. The location is perfectly placed at the halfway mark between Esperance and Perth, conveniently just off the main highway. ||||The location is wonderful - from your cottages you will have a view of expansive fields of crops and is a perfect place to simply unwind with a glass of local wine, whilst watching the Western Australian sun set. ||||Mary was so accommodating of my requests, and communicated with me throughout my stay to ensure I was comfortable. ||||The property itself is lovely to walk around as there is a short walk trail where I was able to take some fabulous pictures of the sunset over the fields. There are also some resident animals that you can feed. ||||The rooms were quite clean and the beds comfortable. The only thing I would suggest is that you bring fly/mozzie repellant, as they are out in full force! It is so peaceful at night, the pure silence broken occasionally by the distant hum of a passing road train.||||There is quite strong 3G mobile reception here too with Telstra - for anyone who cannot live without their phones. ||||I simply won't stay anywhere else now when making the long drive between Esperance and Perth.
