This theatre is another reason why I love Malanda. Very historical. Nothing fancy.

I didn't have the luck for a movie there as the time I stayed in Malanda is limited but I did visit it for a bit. Guess it's hard to find a theatre like this anymore.

They only play limited of movies per day as there is only one hall.

You can get some snacks outside the theatre.

Overall I just love it.

Quaint movie theatre. Nothing flash. Holds its air of history and charm.

Seats are a bit uncomfortable but bearable for the standard length of a movie.
Pricing is excellent. Service is excellent.
It's just an all-around great place for the family or solo for a little break.

Very reasonably priced for both tickets and snack food. However, the old canvas sling chairs are quite uncomfortable, would love to see some new comfy seats go in.

Now, Malanda theatre might not have the highest picture or sound quality, but there's something really special about seeing a movie or musical in Queensland's longest continually running theatre! Definitely recommend. Also, very affordable!

I can't say the seats are all that comfortable, but as the theatre has been around for 95 or so years, that's really to be expected. A place with lots of history and good ticket prices.
