Appalling service and complete lack of care or follow-through. I made a simple request in early May for a small maintenance task so we could place a vase at a loved one’s grave. Despite multiple emails, follow-up calls, and being told the job would be done within two weeks, it is still not completed, even now in late July.

When I visited recently, nothing had changed. The delay has caused unnecessary stress for my family, especially during important cultural moments where I had to explain that we were still waiting. There has been no urgency, no accountability, and no respect shown throughout this process.

Deeply disappointing and incredibly disheartening.

I tried to make an appointment to buy a Cremation Site, but surprisingly, my appointment with Christiney Foo was 3 weeks later.
After visiting the site, I tried to reserve the Cremation Site by SMS and email twice, but I did not receive a reply. I gave up and called Northern Suburb Memorial Park. They politely assigned a staff member on the afternoon of the same day I called. He kindly and thoroughly guided me through the site. In today's society where we can order something from Amazon and we receive it the next day, it is surprising that sales practices like Macquarie Park Memorial Park exist.

I am writing to express my frustration regarding the lack of response about my mum’s stonehead design and the plaque inscription.

Our family held the ashes interment on 27th February 2025. On 18th February, Ana Mavridis from the booking team asked me to email her the stonehead design and inscription details so she could forward them to the "sales team" for a quote and proof. I sent everything on the same day.

A week passed with no response, so I followed up with Ana, who told me to wait as the sales team was understaffed but would respond soon. I waited until 6th March with still no reply, so I visited the administration office in Macquarie Park. The receptionist, Jess, was very helpful and took notes, assuring me she would pass the matter to Christiney Foo, who, I was told, is the only person who can assist with this.

The most frustrating part is that we are not allowed to engage another contractor for this. Despite multiple attempts to contact Christiney Foo—through calls, texts, and emails on 6th March—I have yet to receive any response.

I am beyond frustrated with the complete lack of communication. Our family simply wants to do the right thing for my mum and finalize her stonehead design without unnecessary delays. This is not an unreasonable request.
Can someone please respond immediately?

I would recommend considering other funeral directors instead of working with Christiney Foo. While she initially came across as compassionate and trustworthy, the follow-up communication was deeply disappointing. Families were not kept adequately updated, and responses to phone calls and emails were nonexistent. To make matters worse, family members were sent an invoice without being properly addressed, and inquiries about the invoice went unanswered. While her ability to speak Chinese is a plus, it may be more effective to work with another director and use an interpreter if needed. In such sensitive and emotional times, reliable communication is essential, and unfortunately, the service did not meet the necessary standard.

Tim assisted me a few weeks ago in relation to memorial plots. Tim was empathetic and had excellent customer service. He was also very professional.

I have a bad experience with the people who organise the burial locations. My father unfortunately passed away during the pick of the covid. To be precise, 20th Jan 2021. It is a very emotional period in one's life, and dad being the first person who I had to organise the burial, I trusted people. We were shown the location of my father's grave on the day of the burial. There was no previous agreement and no one took us to the location prior. To add more, my father photo was lost in the documentation and I had to send it again. It took them more than 1.5 year to put my father's photo on the grave.

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with Christiney Foo. Communication was a major issue as I struggled to get timely responses, which made the process unnecessarily stressful. I would recommend considering other funeral directors who may provide a more responsive and professional service to help ease this difficult time.

My mother’s plaque was manufactured, and then put directly into storage due to a misunderstanding we cannot fathom has happened. We have tried to chase up several times over the past few months, wasting a lot of our time and energy at something that evidently was not properly followed up. Ordering and managing plaque installations should be a simple and straightforward process, but this was lengthened significantly and made a distressing matter by various parties at this cemetery.

Although the matter has been resolved, this should not have happened in the first place. Grieving family members should not be responsible for chasing up the plaques of their loved ones.

My concern seems to have been echoed across other reviews here as well - I think it is time this cemetery steps up and provides better support and formal warnings for the staff managing this process.
