Parking proved to be a logistical hurdle, requiring frequent relocation. Furthermore, the lounge and kitchen bar featured limited seating, which may be restrictive for larger parties. Despite these points, many visitors have consistently praised the comfort of the rooms and beds, as well as the overall quality of the accommodation. Great location and lovely interior, but a little disappointing for a group of ten. Suitable for 4 couples. Our room and bed was comfortable but another couple got the short end of the stick with an inferior rear room. No breakfast provided, no coffee, and a few tea bags. Parking had to be moved every hour and half. Insufficient seating in the small lounge and kitchen bar.,I thought it was expensive for what we got.

We recently got married at MacKenzie Quarters. So pleased with our choice venue! Mercie, our coordinator, didn’t skip a beat. Her professionalism and attention to detail with all that we wanted was exceptional. The menu and service from staff was top shelf, with our guests all raving about the meal and service. Our weekend at the beautiful Residence with little extras of evening liquers in the suite & croissants delivered for breakfast a special extra touch. Thanks Rianwhen, Mercie and all the Team.. you made our day ! Jo & Brendan

I wish every wedding of mine had a Mercie of MacKenzie Quarters to work with me! I presented a wedding at MQ for the first time last Saturday. I was impressed with MQ all the way: they got in touch with me very early after the couple engaged my services, to make sure I had my insurance certificate of currency and what were my PA and microphone arrangements for the ceremony to be held in the Conservatory Gardens, and was there anything they could do to make my job easier. Mercie attended the ceremony walk-through in the Gardens the day before the wedding, and had good ideas for the choreography and set-up while being marvellously respectful and discreet and giving the groom and myself all the time in the world to lock-in our final decisions. On the wedding day we had to move the ceremony inside to the MQ venue due to rain, and once again Mercie and the relaxed and attentive staff excelled: flipping the reception room into the ceremony setting with very short notice, and giving every indication of genuinely enjoying making it all happen. As far as I can see, when MQ says they are ‘wedding organisers’ it really does extend across settings and all through the process, rather than the business just being ‘a venue’. MQ and Mercie in particular provided the very essence of hospitality. Five stars.

Our party of nine recently stayed for two nights at The Residence, part of MacKenzie Quarters. We also had a meal on one of our nights, next door at Ms Bannerhams --- a truly excellent occasion (see separate review).

As the website suggests, The Residence was built in 1870 and is an historic reminder of a bygone era. That said, it very comfortably slept our party of nine. The three double rooms are huge and very spacious.

There is a fully functioning kitchen with a massive fridge to cater for all your needs. The description on the website about The Residence's inhouse facilities and sleeping configurations are accurate. This along with The Residence's central location makes it a fabulous place to decamp for an escape to Bendigo.

We will back!

It's been a few weeks and we are only now coming off the high that was our wedding at MacKenzie Quaters! The team went above and beyond to ensure that the day went smoothly. Mercie was so accommodating, patient and professional with an amazing attention to detail. Our guests raved about the food, in particular the apple tarte tartin, the pork belly canapes and the wagu beef with truffle mayonnaise. The service all round was outstanding and I would highly recommend MacKenzie Quaters to anyone. I'll definitely be coming back for my next wedding!

The organisation of the event was fantastic- a prompt response to e-mails, great customer service, terms clearly stated. Customer service at the start of the event could have been improved- there was no sense of welcome or friendliness from the bar staff, which was disappointing. The food was excellent, however there was a 15-minute delay on when we ordered it for. Service during the meal was great- extremely attentive. Staff however began packing up the event before we had left the venue, while we were still sitting at the table; considering we had paid until 4pm, this was again, an unappreciated occurrence.
