They do a free breakfast however it isn't a continental breakfast as there is no juice, yoghurt or fresh fruit. The breakfast consists of cereal, not alot to choose from, toast which is bread from a super market, only white and wholemeal, bakery bread would be nicer, tea and coffee, no juice on offer. I remember when John and Lynda owned the Rose, they put on a lovely breakfast, there was more variety of cereal, bread from the bakery, pancakes and juice was included. I must admit the rooms are clean and tidy and the staff are friendly.

Hi This is a budget hotel with very friendly service. The beds were good, the person who booked us in was very friendly and helpful. They open until like 8pm so we were able to book in late as we had a change of plans due to weather. We booked online at like 7.30pm and everything was ready to go when we turned up at like 7.45pm ||There is a little restaurant or like eating area where you can have dinner, breakfast etc. I think the fee includes breakfast I have been told but we left early so not sure. ||Was just adjacent to the shamrock Hotel which does also provide meals. There was a Fuel station on the other side which was a short drive or walk. ||Thank you Rose Hotel for your friendly service after our nearly 700km drive it was a perfect overnight stop. Our friends also said they stay at your motel and they recommend to stay again.

The room was clean until I shut the bathroom door. It had a build up of orange coloured scum along the tiles. Hair and dirt. The tiles at the front of the shower were cracked and dirt built up in these.
The TV would not turn on. And although reporting it no one came to have a look.
I also had a tussle with a cupboard wanting to iron my clothes. The door was off one hinge and it was stuck on the other side. Didn’t bother trying to continue. Could have been a disaster.
The continental breakfast was very basic.
Cornflakes or Just Right, Toast, jam and bushels tea or international roast instant coffee. No juice or yoghurt. A pancake machine that didn’t work. I certainly won’t be back any time soon.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mackay Rose Motel, and I can't say enough about the outstanding experience I had. From the moment I arrived, I was met with warmth and genuine hospitality from the owner, who went above and beyond in ways I never expected. I found myself in a bit of a difficult situation, and the owner stepped in to assist me, offering support and solutions that made all the difference during my stay. It was truly a comforting experience that showed how much they care about their guests.

The rooms at Mackay Rose Motel are beautifully designed, blending comfort with modern amenities. Each room is immaculate and thoughtfully laid out, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. I particularly appreciated the spacious parking area that offers privacy and convenience, making it easy to come and go without any hassle.

Additionally, the motel is conveniently located close to a 24/7 IGA, making it easy to grab any essentials or snacks at any time.

The highlight of my stay was the lovely pool area. It provides a perfect retreat for relaxation, surrounded by well-kept landscaping that invites you to unwind and enjoy the sunshine.

Overall, my experience at the Mackay Rose Motel exceeded all expectations. If you’re looking for a place that combines great service, comfort, and a relaxing environment, I highly recommend this motel. Thank you to the owner for making my stay so memorable!

We chose this motel because dogs are allowed and needed a break from our Motorhome, but had the worst night sleep ever, even our dog. We had a standard Queen Room. Only Louvres, no windows, no fly screen. No fan, but a/c. It felt like being locked up in a dark room and lots of noises from other rooms. No where nearby to walk the dogs for a toilet. Very basic room, but shops are close by and food / room service good. We wouldn’t stay there again and gave the breakfast a miss so we could move on even though it was included. They charged $40 for our dog extra for the night, which we had no problems with.

Thanking the mackay rose motel for getting us booked into our room early, as my hubby had to go into hospital for a procedure which we had to travel 2 hours for. Accomadation was clean, great food and excellent service and not far into mackay city. They made us feel really welcomed and I highly recommend this motel. I have already booked our next stay with my 2 dogs. Thanks again.

No one in reception, but phoned, and someone came promptly to check us in. Room was everything we needed for 2 night stay, with our Moodle, 🐶 clean, tidy and good bedding, family enjoyed pool and sitting area. Bbqs there to cook up.

Friendly staff, we had a spacious & lovely room with a spa bath, our accommodation stay also included breakfast, which were very tasty pancakes. We ordered room service for dinner too, they make really good dinners! The kids loved there pizza! We really enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation on coming back.
