The Adventure Lodge is very modern, clean and accommodating to all. It has such a welcoming and open vibe, the rooms are amazing, the staff are super lovely. We did the 3 night/ 2 day tour (incl the platypus tour, sunrise with wallabies and wakeboarding) and it was an amazing experience. Would 100% recommend to all travellers/backpackers. It’s such a lovely experience, and somewhere not everyone always goes to. Truly a hidden gem and a 10/10 experience. Our tour guide Michelle was just incredible, she has the best vibe, is committed to her job, very passionate and informative and good fun. She took so many lovely pictures for us which we were super grateful for. That girl deserves a massive pay rise!!!

Mackay Adventure Tours is a hidden gem of the East Coast which more people definitely need to book onto! We booked the Sandy Hop package which included 2 days full of super fun activities. Michelle lead our tours and she was fantastic! Super knowledgeable about the area & really friendly. We spotted Platypus, went for a swim in the gorge, watched the sunrise with local wild life & had a go at wake boarding, enjoying a free welcome drink after. I couldn’t recommend enough. It’s super handy that Michelle acts as your personal photographer for the day so you can live in the moment & still end up with some great pics (for free!)

I couldn’t recommend Mackay Adventure Tours enough, my friend and I went on the platypus paradise tour and the sunrise with the wallabies tour, which were both amazing! Michelle is a wonderful tour guide and you can see how genuinely passionate she is about every aspect of Mackay, we learnt so much. I must also mention that the accommodation is just perfect and everything you could ever want. It was such a treat to stay at the lodge. Thank you so much!

I’ve just completed the 2 night, 3 day Mackay adventure and loved every minute of it!

The Mackay Adventure Lodge was great - everything was so modern and clean - it was so much nicer than any of the hostels I’ve stayed in travelling the east coast and really had a luxury feel.

On the first day we did wakeboarding which was so much fun - our instructor was so encouraging and I was impressed with how much progress we all made in such a short space of time!

Following this I went on both the platypus / waterfall tour and the sunrise with wallabies tour. Both were brilliant and our tour guide Michelle was super passionate, knowledgable and friendly - she really made the experience for us! I’d highly recommend both of these activities to anyone stopping in Mackay!

Me and my boyfriend did the beach sunrise tour this morning with Michelle and it was incredible! We got to see wallabies and kangaroos while watching the most beautiful sunrise on the beach, did a short hike up to the viewpoint with stunning views, followed by a lovely breakfast picnic, it is definitely one of the best things we’ve done in Australia we loved every minute of it ? Michelle was brilliant aswell, so friendly, informative, and got loads of beautiful pictures of the animals and us on the trip, we couldn’t recommend it enough!

Amazing two day tour! We saw the cutest platypuses, kangaroos and wallabies! The knowledge and humor from our tour guide Michelle is really what made the two days. Would recommend to anyone on the east coast!

Perfect stop during east coast traveling. The Adventure lodge has an amazing atmosphere and the incredible staff makes it feel like a home. All of the hikes are incredible and Michelle does an amazing job in making the trip so unique and interesting. Recommend 10/10

The platypus paradise tour and the sunrise with the wallabies tour were both great experiences! Michelle is a fantastic tour guide and an absolute sweetheart. The minibus we drove around in is super comfortable and clean. I had a lovely time exploring the gorgeous area around Mackay, thanks!
