Cute little amusement park, but it’s pretty small and often overcrowded. There aren’t many attractions, so it’s more fun for kids than for adults. If you’re a parent, it’s a nice place for a family outing. Just don’t expect a lot of thrilling rides or adult activities. Overall, it’s a charming spot for kids, but maybe not the best choice for adults looking for fun!

I haven't been to Luna Park for a few years, so I thought it was time to return. I was very pleasantly surprised and we had a great day out . The booking process was quick and easy online (you can buy tickets at the gate, but the park can reach capacity, especially on a nice day or weekend, so it isn't worth the risk).
The park was clean, everything was well organised and run efficiently. Line wait times were reasonable for a Sunday on the school holidays (just the scenic railway wait time was a bit longer).
All of the staff we encountered were friendly and professional.
I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to end up eating fried food for lunch, but the cafe offered a varied menu. The kids wanted chips, nuggets and pizza, but I ended up with a beautiful, fresh and tasty chicken and avocado focaccia. (note- i did read that the Cafe had varied opening hours, so perhaps it is only open on busier days).
The staff took safety seriously and always checked the height of riders if they looked like they were close to the restriction, double checked rides and gates were locked before rides started. As soon as it started to rain and the wind picked up, they temporarily shut some rides for safety reasons and ensured umbrellas and loose object were secured.

I think if your kids are into rides, the cost of a unlimited ticket is very reasonable.
My only complaint is that the toilets were a but run down and some soap dispensers were missing, but they were clean.

Overall we had a fantastic family day out and would highly recommend a trip to Luna Park Melbourne.

It might be better if the park had all their rides open of an afternoon. It seems tired and unloved. I hope whatever they are working on there construction wise, gives them an economic boost.

I wanted to like this park, I wanted to enjoy it's retro appeal. In reality though the park is looking fairly rundown in parts and the operations SUCK. There are loads of staff on each ride, but they seem to be massively inefficient and slow - making for super frustrating waits, and even once you're on the ride the loading procedures are so slow that it takes a load of the fun out of it.

It was a really good day out for the whole family. While your here you must take a ride on the historic carousel and famous roller coaster. If it's gut churning rides your after, there's a few of those here also. There are a couple of food shops if you don't want to bring your own and save a little bit of money. Be ready to stand in line for long periods of time at each of the rides.

What an amazing place! From kids ride like carousel, ghost town, small ferris wheels to teenagers and Adults rides like pharaoh's tomb (180°) upwards, The scenic railway 🛤 which covers the whole park and makes you feel adrenaline as you drop everytime as well as the enterprise ride which spins so fast that it makes your head dizzy💫 ! Everything's there over here to ride and enjoy! The best time is to go on a weekday as it will be cheap or a weekend in the afternoon since there won't be a huge crowd.

Hadn't been here in 10 years, just as fun back then as it is now. Cool rides and very good workers there, knew what they were doing.

We got there as soon as it opened, which meant there were less people. Lunch time was when more people started filling up the place.

Recommend the unlimited rides tickets, made it so we didn't have to think too hard about expenses.
