After years of considering, I’ve finally sold my Porsche and bought a Lucid Air! What a fantastic car, I have had both a Porsche Cayman and Macan and was entirely convinced I would be a Porsche guy for life. I had never found a better driving vehicle than Porsche, but Lucid over the last few years has been really impressive. It’s not going to be more desirable than a 911 GT3, but the Lucid sure is better than every other EV option, including the Taycan and Macan EVs.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to test drive a Lucid, I’d readily recommend checking them out. They’re absolutely incredible and can compete with the absolute top cars on sale today. If you’re waiting for the SUV, the Gravity pre-production models are already on the road finishing their testing so it should be out in a couple of months!

I recently had the pleasure of bringing my vehicle to Lucid Motors Costa Mesa for service and software upgrade. I couldn't be more impressed with the service I received.

From start to finish, every interaction with this team, specifically their service manager, Curtis, and Francisco, was nothing short of exceptional.

Firstly, scheduling an appointment was effortless. Curtis was very understanding and accommodating of my concerns and the status of car. He followed through with every promise he made. His unwavering support in taking care of my car left me reassured knowing my car was in capable hands.

Francisco and his team of technicians demonstrated unparalleled expertise and professionalism. They thoroughly inspected my vehicle and explained everything in detail, ensuring I understood the work that needed to be done. I had a similiar experience to others that have posted reviews with Brad. I live in Pasadena and my first service appointment was for 4 recalls to be performed in BH. They dropped the ball on that - losing my appointment on arrival, not having a loaner, 3 hour wait to get back car only to be told the remaining recalls would need to be a mobile tech visit a week later. Chaos. When the tech showed up, he mentioned the car had to go back to a service center to have the battery cables inspected. So i called the phone number in my app to schedule a warranty repair, but this time opted for OC hoping to have a better experience. It was scheduled a month in advance and when I showed up - same exact thing: 1) we dont have an appointment showing 2) questioning why / who recommended to check the battery cable recall 3) no loaner, will you settle for an enterprise rental.
Fine, I get it. Start-up EV company. I had the same experience with Tesla in 2021 when I gave them 100k for a new car too.
I was told the car would be TOWED back to my house when the work was completed so I wouldnt have to drive back to OC (50 mile drive).
I got the car back 3 days later, but the car was not towed. It had been driven back to me with 50+ miles on it. And Brad the service rep sent a service docusign with discrepencies claiming the car was returned back to me with less miles and 2 days instead of 3. I've had lemons in the past, so I'm a stickler with documentation of work completed.

Anyway, all the recalls are complete and now I've scheduled a warranty repair a month out for some noisy trim pieces. We'll see how that one goes and if my experience/work will be any different to warrant an updated review.

Bought a NEW Lucid a month ago. The first 3 weeks of ownership was spent in service. We get it back and week later it needs to go back to service. This car is a joke. The service department, sales, depart, Regional manager, manager, district manager, are all jokes. They can care less. Should a new $165K car be in the shop the first month of ownership ? Oh and the rotars showed rusted, wheel parts missing, seat material bent up and delivery of the car was very dirty. Car and company very unprofessional. but again.. nothing but warning lights etc. .. I am keeping good records as this will be a lemon law issue I am betting.

We have been dealing with lucid for about a month. The communication is horrible. They have delayed our pick up 1x 24 hours before the time and today about 1 hr before. Keep in mind both times I called to verify because they are flakey. If I had not called we would of wasted our time going there. I hope the car is better than the company. So far not impressed with company.if Hewitt is you delivery rep be prepared to be ignored and not communicated with.

I had an excellent experience with the Costa Mesa Lucid service team—Chris and William in particular. It took a “minute” to get my car in the system, but after that, it was top notch all the way. The service time was reasonable, and Chris offered me a great loaner Air. All service was done to my satisfaction, and the communication was outstanding. The service team spotted something that I had not, and they fixed it without asking even though it was not their responsibility—well done, Lucid!

Overall, the facility is very clean and looks very professional. Staff were very friendly and offered you water, coffee, and flavors of carbonated water. Unveiling was cool, but after inspecting the vehicles, there were some issues that would have to make an appointment to come back and get those issues resolved. Delivery advisor went through some details of the car features and programming and set up a mobile app. I will give Lucid a chance to correct those issues since all new EVs are not perfect.
