Society. Overly complicated food, too many ingredients in many dishes, the end result is an amalgamation of flavours that make little sense to the palate. Some may enjoy but I subscribe to the less is more and let the ingredients shine. To many different cooking styles and mix matched cuisines, the food and the restaurant actually has no identity, it's not modern Australian it's just confused. Trying to do too much, too fancy pantsy.
Service is lacking when it's busy and the discontent between your waiter and the sommelier does nothing to create best of service experience. Management punces around and support for staff seems to be driven by if your a big spender or a regular they like, I have observed many tables left wanting as a result. Staff often appear highly stressed as tables in their section are seated in quick succession with support left wanting. The delay for a sommelier to take a first drink order and then have it arrive is unacceptable for a fine dining restaurant charging exorbitant prices.
Lucas Restaurants are trying to do too much, too many fingers in too many pies and not doing anything as well as it should be, not giving the customer a quality experience, rather relying on so called reputation and location do drive a restaurant empire that is out of control and lost touch with the values of hospitality.

Very disappointing to be told that I can't make a reservation without a credit card. I have never experienced such arrogance from a business. I have been going to Hawker Hall for years but I won't be going back. I'm not comfortable providing my debit card details and I shouldn't have to, just to make a booking. If we walk in, we would have to wait, which is why I always book. Lucas Restaurants, STOP de-risking your business onto customers, we are the people that support your restaurants.

Worst customer service. Don't buy anything from their website because if there is a problem with delivery it's impossible to get in contact with them to solve the issue.

The courier advised that the cook books were returned to sender and no one has tried to contact me so I've been chasing them.

I've emailed and called (several times) with no success and all I want now is my money back. So frustrated. Seriously, improve your process! Terribel! Please refund me!!!
