From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed in the lounge by the host Critihk, whose friendly and professional demeaner instantly made us feel like home. The service was absolutely fantastic. everything was handled with care and attention to detail. What really stood out was the host’s charming personality, which is just perfect for a front-of-house role. We had the high tea which was amazing. Scones were mind blowing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, hospitality and a personal touch!

Lilianfels is a beautifully restored heritage estate in the Blue Mountains, blending old English charm with good renovations. The room was cosy and beautiful, with classic wallpaper and a warm, inviting atmosphere—ideal for a winter getaway. We return here every year during the colder months.

The indoor heated pool is pleasant, and the rose garden at the entrance adds to the charm, with an outdoor pool beside it. Facilities include a tennis court, billiards room, spa, and several dining options. The Lounge Bar is my favourite, it is a relaxing spot for meals. Miss Lilian Tea House serves great Asian food. Echoes Rooftop restaurant has an amazing view! Breakfast at Orangery was adequate.

Staff were warm, professional, and helpful throughout.

Overall, a great pleasant stay—we will return.

We had a terrific experience really enjoy the room there and it is the staff we’re friendly. The delicious food. Indoor pool was a delight and also the breakfast with the freshly squeeze juice maker was awesome.
The location is absolutely ideal for the UTA race with such a short walk / run to the starting line. My family could sleep in and come and join after which was great. Also it’s not too far to the town.

Let’s start with the (few) positives… the location is very convenient if you are into scenic walks and hikes being located within close proximity to the Scenic Center and Echo Point lookout. We stayed in the Executive Resort View Suite which is spacious.

Before you book this hotel you should be aware of the following little freebies…

If you order food from room service you have a 50/50 chance of the wrong items being delivered and an even higher likelihood of it being severely undercooked

Make sure you bring a book or chess board to breakfast as it will take at least 25’min for a coffee or tea to be brought to your table. If you don’t like death stares from the waitresses I highly recommend you don’t ask for any updates on your order. If they had a TV in the breakfast area you could enjoy an entire 1-day test whilst waiting for runny eggs and stale toast to be brought to your table. As a marketing strategy the hotel could use a slogan such as Farm Fresh with the eggs evidently being served straight from the chicken coop to your plate. Quite frankly this should at least raise the attention of the public health and safety department. I highly recommend you take out travel insurance before coming here and have a Flying Doctor helicopter on standby in case your gut doesn’t tolerate the hotels appealingly low quality breakfast offering

ā€œRoom serviceā€ pride themselves on making sure your room will not be made until 4pm in the afternoon. Any queries regarding any type of service are met with a blank stare and a well trained should shrug. I can only assume that this is to encourage you to spend as little time as possible in your room and enjoy the local environment. Any dirty cups or cutlery will be left unwashed so you will not forget whatever you ate or drank 24 hours ago. Perhaps this is the hotel’s contribution to reducing its carbon footprint or to make a memorable impression for its guests. If you haven’t seen the movie Back to the Future don’t bother as the TV in the room is at least 20 years old and if you have children you could play a game of trivia asking them to identity the strange black box attached to it, which turns out is a DVD player

The air-condition doesn’t work either. We were told that it had a mind of its own and using the actual remote to set the temperature would not correlate to the actual cooling output. Anyone from Melbourne who is acclimatised to 4 seasons in one day will feel like a locals.

The hotel manager and spa manager where about the only two staff members who were genuine in ensuring a reasonablly comfortably stay especially when issues were flagged along the way

For a premium priced resort at $2,500 for 3 nights this is well below what other hotels and resort are offering in this price range or below

I can not fault our stay. A beautiful and elegant property. If you love old world charm this is the place. Loved the decor throughout and it was like stepping back in time. We had a twin room with two double beds and it was quite a large room. Beautiful fireplaces in the bar/lounge area and the front reception staff were so lovely and helpful. Can’t wait to go back.

Lovely,Lovely, Lovely property. The room we had (unsure of others) could definitely use a facelift, but it was still very nice. We had a beautiful view of the mountains. Facelift needed to: provide adequate plugs - we had to crawl under the bed to plug in our CPAP machines, not enough plugs for phones and other electronics. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had more mold on the walls than would be considered acceptable (especially around the bathtub) for this price tag. We ate only in the Hotel restaurant which was short staffed but still very friendly with good food. ||The pool - never had towels. Both days we were there I had to walk to the hotel lobby to get towels. When I called for assistance they told me they didn't have anyone available to service the area. The chairs cushions honestly needed to be trashed and replaced - again not acceptable for such a lovely hotel. But the actual pool and area surrounding were clean and the view outstanding. Never once saw an attendant but I went at the end of the day. ||I had originally booked Echos, but the reviews scared me away (also stating that it was in need of a remodel) unsure at this point which was worse. Might lean torwards Echos next time for the enhanced views and to take advantage of the balconies. ||Even though it is dated and needed a facelift still enjoyed our time there - actually extended our stay because we enjoyed the town so much.

What a beautiful hotel! Everything about this hotel was fabulous. It has an old worldly feel and is so tastefully decorated. The bedroom was luxurious and fixtures and fittings were high end. The shower was to die for. The reception/lounge area was populated with sink into chairs and couches and the perfect place to kick back and relax. We had some drinks and club sandwiches when we arrived and they were delicious. The hotel’s outdoor and indoor pools are lovely and the games room has the old charm of what you’d expect to find in a posh private residence . Breakfast next morning was excellent. The only disappointment for us was upon returning home later that night we were unable to get a drink at the bar. It was only 10.45. Apart from that it was a gorgeous break in a beautiful hotel and in a heart beat I would go back. I only wish we had booked more than one night. Next time!

Not one to often give a 5-Star rating, Lilianfels hits the spot. If you're looking for an upmarket experience where the staff care, and the atmosphere is "just right", then this less-than-2-hour drive from Sydney is worth the visit. We were here for a short break, and will certainly return. Highly recommended šŸ‘Œ
