A couple of days in Licorice Cottage is enough to rejuvenate your soul. Where it’s sometimes a difficult feat to find a place that accommodates two rather large fur babies, Licorice Cottage welcomes them with open arms.

The fully fenced garden provided the perfect location for a little outdoor time for the pup dogs and humans.

The deck that offers beautiful water views, was the perfect location to enjoy both a morning coffee & the spoils of a glass of bubbly.

This is a very well appointed and clean property, far away from the crowds and bustle of normal life. You have no choice here but to relax and take it slow. Which is exactly what we did over two nights. A lovely break.

An absolutely amazing find. EVERYTHING at Licorice Cottage was perfect. The views, the deck, the bed, linen, spa etc. We were also impressed by the attention to detail and thoughtful extras. (binoculars, board games, books, mozzie coils and even a bottle of sparkling and licorice on arrival!) The home is spotlessly clean and best of all, your 4 legged fur baby can enjoy it all with you, in a truly pet friendly home. We never tired of the stunning view and we are already planning our return. Thank you so much Sandra and Craig for your generous hospitality.

My partner and I, and our two 12yr old deaf mini foxies, had the very best stay at Licorice Cottage. It is absolutely divine in every way and is the perfect getaway for any time of year. The yard is fully and securely fenced, and there are plenty of interesting areas on the island to explore on foot. There is a wonderful book inside the cottage that details lovely drives and things of interest to see on the island, so we took a photo of the pages on our phones, and set out to discover everything! We were so grateful for these tips and it really made our stay. In fact, Licorice Cottage has lots of lovely unexpected touches that warmed our hearts. We loved it here and you will too.

A very well presented cottage with more applicances than we have in our own home. The views blew us away and the sunrise on the deck was inspiring for gentle beginning of the day stretches. Highly recommend Licorice Cottage for a taste of island life in a lovely property.

We stayed at the Licorice cottage over the Christmas break. We were so impressed with the quality of furnishings, the styling, the amazing views to Stradbroke and the little touches around the house. ||We were so happy to find somewhere that welcomed our fur babies also.||It was the nicest presented house we have ever stayed in. A great kitchen to cook in, comfortable bed, beautiful spa, garden, sitting on the deck watching the tides roll in and out. A lovely lounge room upstairs on the mezzanine.||Beware of the mozzies. A good idea to bring lots of repellant and citronella candles to Macleay Island.||Thanks to Sandra & Craig.|

My wife has surprised me with a weekend away. I had no clue where we are heading. After a great trip on the car ferry we arrived at MacLeay Island. A place we never been before. We arrived at the Cottage early afternoon. It was such a lovely surprise, the Cottage. The place was immaculate. Tastefully decorated, spacey for 2 people with a lovely deck looking at big trees and the ocean. The place had everything you want for a great weekend. There was even a great CD and movie collection to be found. The Spa was surely also a highlight. We had dinner at the Bowls club with a free pick and drop service. I can also recommend the club to everyone who will go. |If you're after a nice and quiet weekend away, I can recommend it to anyone. |Keep up the great work Sandra and Craig. We certainly would recommend it to anyone who is after a nice getaway.

I visited with my daughter and grandson for a 4 day weekend to Licorice Cottage. This is a beautiful and very friendly little island and our loft house was just charming. Being the middle of winter it was great to snuggle up in front of the fire and toast marshmallows. Relax in the huge spa and play board games. It rained unfortunately but we will be back in summer to enjoy the kayaking and other distractions.

We stayed in the Licorice Cottage and we have to say that we were very pleasantly surprised with the Cottage. Our hosts Sandra and Craig met us at the ferry and gave us a little tour of the island to get our bearings , then dropped us off at the cottage.||We walked in and had our breath taken away by a stunning outlook and a beautifully furnished quaint cottage. Their attention to detail in setting it up was amazing. It has everything you could possibly need. Such a relaxing and peaceful place.
