Went there today for lunch. We rarely eat out because we are mostly disappointed. This was no exception. No one was there but we did arrive as they opened for lunch. We ordered steaks. 2 steaks, one beer and one lemon lime and bitters @$120.
My partners steak came out first. Without the pepper sauce he ordered. Chips were cold. They told me my steak would be another 5 minutes. It arrived just as my partner was finishing his meal. I asked for medium. Steak was very rare. I sent it back. By the time it came back I wasn’t hungry. And they didn’t heat up the chips so my chips were cold by then too.

Only one other person was in there when we left and we can see why. If they were busy I would’ve understood a bit better but we were literally the only people there so they had zero other orders.

It’s a very small menu so we expected they would be great at what they do. They aren’t. Nothing about this experience was enjoyable.

A massive waste of $120. We won’t be eating out for another 12 months now.

I've been before and it hasn't been good.
My partner is at a Christmas party so I decided to take the plunge and have a go.
Thank God I did steak cooked to perfection chips hat and fresh, the only thing was a bit of tomato and cucumber in the salad would have been great.
Amazingly surprised.

Went to Steakroad for dinner on a Saturday, after looking at the website.
Awesome looking food on the website and the menu looked great ...
You will be disappointed if that is what you expect. It really is false advertising and just bait to get you in ...
The food service is poor and the prices are high. Go figure?
I saw two couples come in, look at the menu, then leave. I should have followed or at least checked these reviews before I booked a table.

Fish and chips was REALLY nice!! Best chips we've had in ages.Cost 23 australian dollars and we had 2 pieces battered fish, tartar sauce & loads of chips.Took awhile but we didn't mind, it was worth it.We chatted to lovely chap from Shanghai running it.Nice music played too.Our room was big, TV good, beds comfy, basic but totally adequate & price was cheap too!

Stopped in for Sunday lunch. Absolutely magnificent meals. Host was fantastic. Great open areas in the whole establishment. Friendly family atmosphere. Very clean and tidy. Will definitely be going back there again. Highly recommend.

Had meals at Leura hotel Sat 22/06/24, many staying in town for Robert Burns Festiva! Friend made booking for 17+ was told had to leave a $200.00 deposite as would need to hire extra people!? We arrived about 5.30pm with 4 other people outside our party in the pub. Nicely presented pub looked deserted. Had a drink whilst waiting and when everyone arrived we started ordering, order and pay at bar. The menue choice is nothing like whats online? I ordered chicken curry, my husband fish and chips, orders came out sporadically not together, in fact some recieved theirs after others had finished, and some waiting over an 1.5 hrs for theirs!?The chicken curry was like something from a can, smallest square cubes of substitute chicken ever (7 to be exact) with carrot and potato cubes in a sweet curry sauce dumped on a small mound of claggy, cold rice! I cant believe the poor quality of service and the food, with less than 28 people all up in the whole restuarant, and they could not manage? I would hate to be there if ever busy! Only one person at the bar, one serving and obviously one cooking one meal at a time! I understand things are hard for small business, but this was rediculous. The saving grace was our company and that we got the deposit back! This festival had been planned by the town for ages, so no excuse not to be prepared! I offer advice to the owner, sack the cook, pack up the resturant and just focus on drinks and bar snacks! We will not return!

Any public indication of quality about this place (including their own website) is a fiction! The room was cold, and, no, we couldn't have a heater, they were for longer term guests. Overnight people might take them home!
The bathroom, (down the passage, turn left, further along), had NO hot water, the urinal was out of order.
Any resemblance of reality to their swish online "Steakroad" bar and grill image is just simply not true. According to locals it used to be good - but apparently sold - now it is not good. But they have left the fancy swish web presence up for all to see.
The one meal we had - although the taste was OK, my "slow cooked lamb shank" was clearly pre loaded onto my plate in the fridge, then bundled into the microwave and brought out. From ordering, it arrived in less than 5 minutes! Not that I expected it to have been "slow" cooked from scratch, but the whole impression given was that we were an inconvenience...
There was a $50 key deposit required, that rankles a bit. We had to ring the guy to get him to meet us as we left to get the deposit back.
The guy was friendly enough, but every impression of the place was cheap and cost cutting. There was only one other couple in the bar (and "restaurant") on Friday, no-one else at all staying there that we could see over the whole weekend and no-one in the bar or "restaurant" on Saturday night - unsurprising.
We ate at the Hampton across the road on Saturday night. Much better value and quality and the place was buzzing.

Can I give more than 5 stars? Went for dinner while passing through. Even though the town was eerily quiet, the service and the food was incredible. The meat of their BBQ ribs fall straight off the bone! It was cooked fresh and it shows. I can only imagine how good everything else tastes. Had a fantastic chat with the owner afterwards too.
